According to the white house, you can apparently file for unemployment after a couple bad weather days....

White House economic adviser Larry Summers said on Monday winter blizzards were likely to distort U.S. February jobless figures, which are due to be released on Friday.

"The blizzards that affected much of the country during the last month are likely to distort the statistics. So it's going to be very important ... to look past whatever the next figures are to gauge the underlying trends," Summers said in an interview with CNBC, according to a transcript.

Construction activity was hit particularly hard by the storms, but many restaurants and stores also had to close, putting the brakes on hiring plans and temporarily throwing some employees out of work.

Before the partisan bickering begins, we all (vast majority) have an entitlement attitude. The millionaire CEO deserves his multi million bonus despite his companies bail-out. The lady with 5 kids and no husband deserves her rent paid, $500 in cash and a Lone Star Card, etc. despite no job.

We have lived off the sacrifices of our forefathers and we got spoiled after the greatest generation. The last three generations don't know jack about hard work or sacrifice. The current congress and especially the administration is not doing anyone any favors by perpetuating class warfare, me too policies and you can have your cake and eat it too rhetoric.

And no, I'm not some old codger.

hey, im all for millionaire bonuses if they earned them. they should have let those banks fail and file for bankruptcy. nothing would have happened. this idea that the bailout saved the country from complete collapse is a bunch of bs.

The CEO is as much of a welfare queen as the welfare queen
    __________________________________________________

Well, the CEO is reponsible for thousands of jobs and a lot of tax revenue that goes to the government both through individual and corporate taxes. The ceo was paying millions in taxes, individually, before the bailout and will continue to afterward, including after the bank pays the money back. What does the welfare queen pay in taxes?

And I'm willing to bet I pay a higher percent than the CEO in taxes.
    __________________________________________________

you would be wrong, in new york that ceo is paying close to 50% of his income in taxes. i get my salary taxed at the highest rate, i get a bonus check, i get taxed at thee highest rate, i get stock from my company, i got to sell off shares to pay the taxes which are taxed at the highest rate. if you are a doctor and have your own practice, you get a bunch of deductions a ceo doesnt get. the only thing a ceo may get taxed at a lower rate is any investment income which is currently taxed at 15% but has recenty been raised i think.

the whole 'I pay higher % percentage in taxes than the rich guy' is cute..Hey, I want my tax rate lowered to, but the rich guy who pays more dollars in taxes than some will make in a lifetime is not the problem. The problem is Uncle Sam, who does less w/ more.

After all, when I write out that check, it's in dollars, not %, so I'm not going to gripe about some guy writing a million $ check, just because his % is lower than mine. He's still paying a shitload of money.
