dumb! With 41 seconds left, you make darn sure you use up every second of the shot clock before shooting. they put that on a silver platter for the Boilers. Good luck Boilers against Duke.
I think with the way Davis had been getting put backs, and did fairly well on the offensive boards, they wanted to shoot with 5-6 seconds left so he could try a tap in, shooting it with 18 seconds left was a big mistake.
jamesmaner; i agree 100%. but i don't know that the basketball board is the place to be dumping on aggy right now. just my opinion which, according to my wife, aint' worth much.
Folks, for what it's worth, I think it's best to keep this discussion either focused on the strategies of the A&M game...what worked, what didn't, etc. instead of trying to belittle anyone or any team in order to make yourself feel better. IMO, there can be no doubt: 1. The Aggies are much improved over the last few years, and 2. The Horns started off on fire and wish their team finished the 2nd half of the season better, and 3. There's room in the Big 12 for both teams to be great next season. Should be some exciting basketball games next season. So, similar to what I mentioned in another thread, let's be grown-ups and move on to another sport, e.g. baseball. Men's & Women's basketball is over for this season. Rice @ Texas this Tuesday night!
A&M did have a better year than us this year, but just remember this: This was a horribly disappointing season for Texas fans and an absolute dream season for the Ags. That's why I wouldn't even think of trading programs with them. Both teams had the same record (losing 10 games) and split head to head. They came in 4th in the Big 12 and we came in 6th. They won 1 conference tournament game, we won 1. They won 1 NCAA tournament game we won none. Both of those sound like ho-hum who cares type seasons. Horn everywhere are wondering what's wrong while Aggies everywhere think they're a legit basketball school. I'll bet we get to a Final 4 again before they do. Hell, they've been to 1 Sweet 16 in normal human memory and somehow a Texas fan is supposed to be in awe over their basketball program. No thanks, as bad as this season was for us, nothing A&M did this year nor has done in the past 20 years is enviable in way shape or form. So I think it is fine to laugh at them for choking against Purdue with a chance to play in Houston on the line.
