MU's been clamoring that they are back and will be a national power for a few years now too. I'll believe a team from the North is "back" when they can string together consecutive awesome seasons.
well, i don't expect to live long enough (don't imagine another couple hundred years would help) to understand why we so thoroughly ignored the running game the past several years. i just don't understand. we came dangerously close to losing two games because we had nearly no running game (and i think it might have cost us the tech game last year). just some ability to run on nebraska might have made that a very different game. i hope with every fiber that we are serious about it now.
The Husker Offense has to play better against Texas this year vs the CCG last year. They can't play any worse.(unless you count the 8 TO's against ISU I guess) SUH being gone will likely cause a lot of risk scheming by the D to make up for his pass rush being gone. More risk means more secondary members on an island. Less pass rush(cause no SUH) means those island coverages last longer allowing more time for the WR to get open. Or more bltzing means more big plays. Nebraska will be as fired up as any team Texas has ever played. The fans are going to be not hiding their Texas hate this year I am guessing. It will be so tense they will probably have couches burning inside the stadium during the game. Hopefully GG and the team can play well enough to absorb the emotion and turn it into solid play.
Maduro, I knew when I heard them cue up the Benny Hill Show music it was on like Donkey Kong. Thanks.
As others as pointed out longtex, my point wasn't that NU sucked... quite the contrary, their defense was lights out. However, your stupid *** statement that we got asses kicked when we owned every single statisical category by muliple factors, along with the scoreboard is just butt dumb. (Remainder edited due to dumbassery on my part)
Our OL got owned. As a team, we were not. I find I am among those who would not describe UNL as having kicked our rear ends. I would go so far as to say that our D did, in fact, kick theirs. The frustrating thing about the game was not being dominated but rather not cashing in and salting it away IMO. Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, though.
When Nebraska has the correct scheme used against its defense, it can look rather ordinary. I watched their game against Tech in Lincoln. Tech won going away and Su was a non factor most of the game.
NU: 1 win against the University of Texas since 1996 . . . I think it's a bit premature to begin talking about a Corn dynasty. Let's see them beat Texas a few times in a row before we anoint them as the Kings of the Conference.
If Neb fans are thinking there won't be much of a drop off without Suh on defense, then they aren't as knowledgable as I thought. What Dude wrote above is totally on the mark. Suh was getting to the QB while being double teamed. Neb defense won't suck, but they won't be nowhere close to what they were last year. They wouldn't have put much pressure on Colt in the Big 12 championship game last year without Suh. Plain and simple.
So, it's all about the spread. So if you're favored by 28 point and you win by 10 points, than the other team kick your ***?
