I have been reading the Aggies talking about going to the SEC. Assuming I have missed something, what evidence is there that has surfaced that 1) the powers that be are considering it, and 2) that the SEC is interested. I just see a lot of people who act like they hope it happens but nothing leaking which says it is even a possibility. Is there anything out there like the leak about the Pac 10 invite regarding aggy to SEC, or is it just a texag forum delusion?
While it would be very entertaining to watch Aggy flounder in the SEC (can you say "Arkansas"), I do NOT want them to go as it will simply further open the doors for SEC recruiting in Texas. We'll always lose a few kids to the LSUs, Bamas, etc. But I have no desire to see what might happen with 5 or 6 SEC teams playing on Texas soil every year.
Aggy is having their ears tickled by SEC fans: www.texags.com/main/forum.reply.asp?topic_id=1633745&page=3&forum_id=5 What Aggy is too stupid to realize is that the reason they want them and not us is because they think they can make inroads to recruiting Texas (esp Arkansas and LSU) without adding any losses to the schedule. Also, are the maroon clad morons out there ready to not play Texas? It would be worth watching them go to see what song they'd come out and sing in the SEC
i hear the aggies are also going to sign vince lombardi as their head coach and found 4 extra years of eligibility to recruit peyton manning.
Goodness gracious. Somebody needs to inform this guy as to the only reason the Ag's amounted to anything at all in the 90's or their golden generation. YOU CHEATED you idiots, profusely. You got caught too. Yeesh.
would not hurt my feelings if TAMU goes SEC. Annual Turkey day game can be retained and played in Dallas or Houston. That can replace one of our annual weak sister OOC games.... 7 PacEast games, 2 PacWest games, TAMU plus 2 other OOC doesn't sound to bad to me.
What setback in the last decade are the ags talking about? They have one MNC and that was in 1939. Sure, they had some good years. But come on, it's not like they have ever been considered one of the top programs in the nation... LOL
Aggies bragging about running to the SEC is like a little six year old with a hobo-backpack telling ma that they're leaving home to join the circus. Run along, sonny, and watch out for the elephant scat.
Very little has been heard from the SEC. They don't seem to be making any moves at the moment, although they could be keeping their negotiations secret. The other conference potential additions have become more than just rumors, although they still might not happen. It seems like the SEC is sitting this round out to see what actually transpires. It appears aggy is just engaging in wishful thinking regarding the SEC. They seem to have two options: stay if UT stays, or go where UT goes.
Pancho, excuse the hell out of me for having an unconventional opinion! I like the TAMU rivalry but I do not believe having them in one's conference brings much to the table from an economic or reputation standpoint. The neutral site comment was just a throw in idea to take advantage of the concentration of alumni of both schools in Dallas or Houston and reduce onesided attendance either in Austin or CS. I prefer having evenly split crowds in general. And replacing LA-LA or Wyoming or one of many others on our recent schedules with TAMU as an OOC game can not hurt our strength of schedule.
Sorry, but aggy has been hurting our strength of schedule for years. And playing a 3 win 8 loss SEC patsy on Thanksgiving will not improve it either. If they join another conference then our fight song can stay the same...and its goodbye to A$M, for good.
