    And once again Mack shows his class. This does not come as a surprise to me.

    I am 100 percent certain that the band and athletic department began discussions on how to honor the memory of the young man who died, and his teammates who were injured, the moment they heard the terrible news.

    I am positive.

    I hope no one boos Wyoming. Even if they had not suffered this tragedy, we have nothing against them. We sit far from the visitor's entrance, but maybe those over that corner will at least give the Cowboys a golf clap when they enter the stadium. The moment of silence should help, it's a nice and appropriate gesture.

    It bothers me when opposing teams are booed entering the stadium. It also bothers me when members of the crowd start "Texas Fight" to try to drown out their alma mater. I would prefer that we all show respect for both teams on the field at all times. We can still come early, yell and or sing as loudly as is humanly possible, wear as much burnt orange as we can get our hands on and stay late, no matter what the traffic looks like, without being disrespectful. These are 18-22 year old kids doing what they (and we) love best. Why boo them simply because they play football for another school? It's especially bad form to boo a team that the Horns are expected to thrash. Isn't kicking their butts enough?

    Five circumstances I can think of where booing is justified:
    * A ref makes an obviously bad call. (As an aside, booing the reversal of a call after careful video review is just plain stupid.)
    * A flagrant, intentional personal foul
    * A coach or player arguing a flag excessively
    * A player showboating or taunting
    * A coach obviously running up a score at the end of a game

    Two more circumstances:

    * aggy
    * blowu

    I took my then little cousin to the North Carolina game where we scored 44 and sat on the kick to keep the score there. Outside the stadium before kickoff we passed by a couple in NC gear. My little cousin blurts out, "North Carolina Sucks!". I grabbed him by the collar and asked him what the hell that was all about?!

    I gave him the briefing on class, respect and representing your team with dignity. He said he was sorry but that was not enough. I reversed direction and caught up to the man and woman and made him say he was sorry to their face. He told them he would never do it again.

    The man shook my hand and the lady gave him a hug and said they appreciated it. I got a nod from the man along the lines of "well done". No way in hell I was going to stand for that type of ******** by somebody I bring to a game.

    Booing the opposing team upon arrival on the field is a statement of low class.

    Fanbases that boo are the same kind of fans who rush the field. See Texas Tech. Booing is busch league and meant for 2nd tier programs.

    If anybody booed when the WY team came out, I didn't hear it. They even got some applause from Texas fans.

    Lots of WY fans told me they had been treated really well while in Austin.

    That's how we want it for places that treat us well when we visit there -- and they treated us really well in Laramie.

    They knew they were going to get beaten on the field, so none of them even talked about that after the game.

    Good people, those Cowboy fans.
