My gut tells me we're 3-3 after Saturday and the corn game. We'll find out then what kind of team we have.

They turn it around and we finish 9-3 or 8-4 and we'll be OK ... I could see us really tanking however if both blowu and corn mudhole us.

I don't think Muschamp had anything to do with the poor showing of the defense in the second half. I think the guys just stopped playing in the face of adversity. Mack addressed this on Monday and mentioned a few guys that played hard but said that most did not.

To reiterate what some of you have said...we need to take care of the ball. No turnovers always gives you a chance to win. And with our offensive struggles this year I'm going to say we need a DEF and/or ST score to win.

I have no reason to but I have a good feeling about this game. They have to get up for this one, if we don't and get blown out we are in for a long season. On Saturday our defense plays great and somehow our offense finally gets it together.

I think we'll win in a blow out game! Our defense will be back to normal and stuff OU. Our offense will cease with its weekly buffoonery and not totally f**k up the good field position the defense will provide from forced turn-overs. Because our offense is allergic to the end zone, we'll nail some field goals. I predict 3 field goals, a safety, and a blocked punt. We kill the land thieves!

    UT - 11
    OU - 10

Our "sideways" passing attack will lead to 2 pick 6's for OU. They will read this play just like they did with Simms. The only hope Texas has is to go 5 wides and fling it DOWN the field (kind of like Gilbert did in high school).

Texas wins 20-16. Waka Waka Waka gets one, defense gets or sets up 1, Tucker nails 2 FG. A late pick by Gideon seals the deal, go get a Fletchers and a beer folks, enjoy your Saturday evening at the State Fair of Texas.

It would be pretty amazing if Texas wins and were able to even the series with OU for the decade after the start Texas had to it.

My heart really wants to say we're going to pull this one out, BUT my mind says otherwise.

I think the D gives up only 6 points on it's own (two field goals), but the offense turns it over 3 times with one being a pick 6 and the other turnovers result in a touchdown. They go for two once and make it. OUsucks 21

Texas somehow manages to put one drive together early and actually score a TD in the first quarter, but all we can manage after that is a field goal. TEXAS 10

I really want to say we can win this game, but the enimic offensive line, no go to WR or RB, makes me say we lose [IMG]

I really hope I'm wrong. If I am wrong I'd say TX 17 OUsucks 13

I am solid in mind that the UT effort will be very intense and focused. Mack will have the guys ready to win and assume the driver's seat for the South. I'm also certain OU will bring it just as strong. I will tell you that we will score on them more than most think just as everyone all year has done, and they will have scoring success on us as well due to bad field position from 3 and outs, etc.

I was concerned with this game before we lost Saturday. I knew it would be close. And my concern is no less or greater after Saturday. OU has looked very beatable except one game, and Texas played fairly well til Saturday and then awful. However, I know you will not see a hangover and will watch two teams giving their best effort. Why would we have a hangover when the Big12 title is still out there and a BCS bowl game? Not gonna happen. And I know our best effort is more than enough to match theirs.

As for the final...I'm not sold on either way, just depends on the breaks of the game. No team has a clear cut advantage in my eyes. Meaning we have some advantages just as they do, and it evens out to me. Come Saturday I'll tell you Texas will mudhole them just as I say every year when pumped. [IMG]

i think defensively we match up pretty well against OU. They are a passing team. Hell, we have more yards rushing through 4 games than they do.

Offensively, as stated ad naseum, no turnovers, manage the game, keep field position, don't put the defense in bad positions.

I think if we were to lose it might come down to special teams. I have zero confidence that we will have any success on either kickoffs and punt returns. Further, We have had zero blocked punts four games in, which is uncharacteristic of a Mack Brown team.

I am going to try to spin this delicately, but i think we have a better chance of winning this game because we lost to UCLA.

Win the UCLA game and maybe we come in too confidently. If we were "due for a loss" and needed a wakeup call, I would rather have it happen to a non-conference team, then to OU.

Beat OU and we have the inside track to the Big12 South. (we could even absorb another bad loss to say....Nebraska and still be in the drivers seat) Lose to OU this Saturday.... Kiss the Big12 South goodbye.

    Hook 'Em Horns. Beat OU.

I think we will beat OU but Nebraska kind of has me worried. I don't think passing is the problem, its the running game. After that piston zone read on Saturday... I don't think Texas is ready for the option running game. I hope for 2 wins the next two weeks but am thinking it might be 1-1.

I think there is better chance we win both games than we lose both. I think we will come out fired up against OU and win a close game. I think right now we are being perceived as a far worse team than we are and OU and Nebraska are being perceived as better and more complete than they are. Both games will come down to our guys wanting the game and not committing mindless mistakes. [IMG]

    Heres my gut feeling.

    A. Muschamps D plays like the Big Bad Mad Bevo it is and literally slams the door shut on Landry, Murray, and Broyles and that other wr.

    B. The middle of their D-line is MUCH thinner than ours. Beal does not look like the Beal of last year because Gerald McCoy is GONE. McCoy being gone is one of the biggest reasons we could win comfortably. Their linebacker corp is thin and Tom Wort is not what they thought he would be at least so far. Basically the middle of their DL is JaMarkus McFarland and whoo??? else. This secondary has no Derrick Straits anywhere. Total Defense #87 ???

Their punter is good but field goals are [IMG] questionable on accuracy and distance. Stoops was asked about ability to make a long field goal and he said it depends on the wind.

IF, IF, IF, I said If, our Offensive line and running backs step up to the plate and play with TEXAS swagger, power and poise we will mudhole the Sooners and if not we wil squeak out a tight win like 24-17.

Our defense is going to leave it all on the field, and our offense is going to protect the ball for a change.

UT wins a close one. [IMG]

For all the sunshine pumpers... you don't fix BAD in one week.

If I thought it was a lack of motivation or too many penalties or something easy we could work on I would give us a shot.

Our offense is BAD. We can't run, we drop passes, we fumble the ball, we throw interceptions and our play calling sucks.

We have seen this in EVERY game this year. Why do people now think it is going to change because we are playing OU?

The only way we win this game is if OU gives it to us.

My prediction, another pathetic first half by the offense with the defense keeping it close. Second half, offense comes out and turns the ball over, defense throws in the towel and OU scores at will.

    Worst case - 42-13 OU
    Best case - 27-13 Texas
    Most likely - 37-17 OU

I think this is the first time I have ever felt we don't even have a real chance of winning.

We're going to win. I saw a vision of a Longhorn running back sprinting down field with the ball and an OU defender reached to catch him from behind and his arm was pulled in two with us scoring.

    The symbolism is obvious [IMG]

OU is undefeated. we have 1 loss. the last two times we played them under those circumstances were 2003 and 2000. those didn't turn out well.

i have a similar feeling. they're flat out better than we are. they're undefeated playing a more difficult schedule (according to Sagarin). we gave up 34 points to UCLA, and only managed 12, in Austin.

our only hope is the defense playing lights out, scoring some points, and no turnovers from the offense. essentially, play a perfect game. and even that might not be enough.

    my prediction:

    OU - 38
    Texas - 10

    hope i'm wrong.
