The quality of writing between the Texan and the Oklahoma paper aren't even comparable. The Texan piece is well written, pointed, satirical, and captures the reader's interest throughout. The Oklahoma piece is disjointed, choppy, and goes off on an irrelevant rant about Islam and the KKK.

    Point: Daily Texan.

Texas: "We would comment on the inferiority of the members of your team individually, but we can’t seem to think of any of note. Plus, we hate to criticize our fellow Texans."

OU: "What happened, Texas? When the underdog comes biting, you roll over and die like a little punk-*** *****?"

Honestly, the above is what it feels like to be in the Cotton Bowl each year. This is a fairly accurate depiction of the two fanbases.

    Good stuff, thanks for posting.

Do you have a link to last year's editorial? I recall the Daily Texan handily winning that exchange as well.

Neither was brilliantly written, IMHO (but then, such is the nature of student journalism).

For the record, I'm perfectly happy if Texas is considered the "scrotum of America." We are America's balls: the very source of strength and virility. Oklahoma, on the other hand, is its belly button: the last vestigial remains of an infant's umbilical cord.

The Oklahoman's effort is void of humor, and sort of racist
