I think it would be great to be #1. I don't pretend to think we'll keep the ranking the rest of the season, but it would be great for a couple of weeks. 2:13 left.
We'll be no. 1, UK will get some votes, and even Kansas may retain a few in the coaches poll. First time we're no. 1. Now the pressure is on us as we head north next week. We won't go undefeated, but I would like to keep our loss count to 4 so we can get a no. 1 seed in the tournament.
It's great to finally say we were ranked #1, but the only #1 that really matters is the seedings in March.
The team will benefit later in March Madness by having to carry the burden of #1 early in conference play. You need to see what it's like to expect only being on top. It takes some getting used to. Be #1 now, maybe lose a game, slip back, the hit the tournament with all that experience. The air is thinner at the top and more likely to make you giddy!
No one is going to go undefeated this year but keep losses at a minimum and anything is possible, nice being # 1 even for a short time. and Congratulations to the Horns
The AP poll is out, and it is official, we are #1. We got 56 first place votes and Kentucky got the other 9.
