If anyone can find a video of Steve kicking off against A&M and hit on Curtis Dickey, please post it. That goes down with Leiding's hit on opening kickoff on Labor Day; Peavy's hit on Marcus Dupree; Chris Duliban's hit on Billy Cannon, Jr; Westbrook & Bracken's hits as the greatest in the modern era of Longhorn football. FWIW, when Dickey separated himself from the concrete retaining wall, he went to the Aggie bench, sat down and refused to go into the game. Mark Dennard & George Woodard gave Curtis the "encouragement' to go back out.
NR, Thank you, but no. Our kicker was injured, Bam Bam was a freshman. Fred had him work the entire week on kickoffs and PATs. We kicked off to start the game. A&M coaches knew our kicker NEVER went down field after kicking the ball, so they didn't assign anyone to block him. Steve had a forty yard head of steam and hit Dickey on the A&M sideline about the 20. He hit him so hard that Dickey hit the concrete wall behind the Aggie bench.
I see Texas Football on twitter has adopted the 100 day countdown. Haven't seen it there before Wonder where they got the idea
