    Oh, sorry, the countdown.
    I need to focus better.

All-American place kicker for the 1990 “Shock the Nation” team. His 6 extra points and 40 yard field goal November 10 that season never fail to bring a smile to my face.

Post script: 94 is one tough number.

Mike Pollak is good people.. I'll never forget his accidental onside kick at home against Colorado, earlier that season..

Charles Talbert celebrates Duke Carlisle’s winning touchdown in the 1963 victory over Texas A&M.

Or maybe the school’s first national championship.

    Possibly both.

    Opinions on this matter?

    Cedric Reed.
Ced was one of the nicest kids I ever had the pleasure of knowing......, until he put on his football pads. He had this Dr. Jekyll/Mr Hyde thing once he stepped on the field. When he was on, he could really dominate.

He had a couple of brothers in the program also.
Tim was the defensive MVP in the 1975 Bluebonnet Bowl. He had his bell rung during the game and his post-game interview was interesting to say the least. Luckily his older brother (offensive MVP) was present to help him through. Doubtless you’ll hear about his older brother later.

You failed to mention the name of his older brother... Did he play much? Have we heard of him by chance?

No worries, I was being sarcastic also.
What this board needs is a meter we can set when we post to avoid such misunderstandings.

Although his kickoff return @ Pyle in 2009 silenced the crowd like a mute button, this block vs. UCLA will be my favorite memory of him in burnt orange. I still can’t believe he got flagged for this.

    4th_floor Dude, where's my laptop?

Roll left is in my top 10 all time Longhorn plays. Thank you, Derek, for catching that pass and not fumbling!

Such an incredible, legal, block and such a BS call. Its like the refs saw the violence of the hit and they had to flag it for something, anything.

And the commentators "the helmet flew off that is the definition of helmet to helmet!"

Um no, its not. There has to "helmet to helmet" contact. I don't know how else to explain that except draw a picture.

And "Due to the violent blindside nature". There is no such rule.
I DO remember my 8th grade coach telling us to keep your head on a swivel and look out for yourself though.

His eight-yard one-handed catch with 4 mins left in the 1996 Big 12 Championship makes Roll Left possible. Otherwise the Horns are up three punting from deep in their territory to the defending national champs.
In my opinion this is second only to Brian Robison’s (and the rest of the defensive right side’s) stop of Lendale White on fourth and one as the greatest unsung play in Texas Football history. But that’s a debate for another thread.
