    4th_floor Dude, where's my laptop?

Other than the above, how do you really feel about Jimbo?

I don't give a crap about Fisher either way but facts are facts. Bowden's last four years they finished 7-6,7-6,10-4,7-6, for 31-22 overall. Fisher's best years were with his own recruits including the NC.

Sounds like some disagreement regarding programs teams success based on recruits of either Bowden or fisher.......whatever difference it makes, I prefer Bowden!

My bad because I thought Bowden coached 2010 as well. I still give him credit for most 2010 & 2011 recruits. I read somewhere that Fisher had almost a 90% winning percentage against SEC teams at FSU.

As for preferring Bowden, he was the most approachable coach in NCAA history. His home phone was listed with information. I had occasion to ask him about that when he walked into Rick Lantz' office while I was there.

"I taught my boys, if a man is willing to spend his time and his dime to call you, you aren't too damn good to talk to him."

Just remembered Fisher was OC and coach-in-waiting for Bowden's last 3 years so he certainly played a role in who they signed during that period.

Yes, Fisher was there those three years, and used every day to undermine everything Coach Bowden was doing. Recruiting? Not so much; working on his palace coup? Every waking moment. Et Tu, Fat Phil?

Bowden was always one of my favorites. I can count the number of games I rooted against FSU on one hand when he was the coach. As for the rest of it I've no idea. However he was 80 when he coached his last game. There comes a day for all of us when it's time to step aside.

90% of the SEC wins were against Flordia. He could not beat Alabama, and they did not play LSU or Georgia.

Bowden coached against Alabama once while at FSU in '07 and won 21-14. Seriously, am I the only person here who researchers things?

He coached against LSU nine times and went 7-2.

He coached twice against Georgia and went 0-1-1. So there's that.

I was referring to Fisher, not Bowden, since the subject is current recruiting and whether or not Fisher has what it takes to elevate aggy. So there's that.

Guys keep adding their names to the visitor list and this is turning into big recruiting weekend, although I think we only have 2 of them set as OVs.
Says something that so many still want to come in on UOVs

The only research I needed to know was that over the last two seasons, FSU was 8-8 in conference play under Jimbo. He lost to some very marginal teams in that run, including Tom Herman and U of H.

no, not the only researcher, but all should be referring to same coach vs power laden SEC when comparing records!

a lot of recruits. would be nice to have a fun atmosphere, but we usually don't show very well at the spring games like some of the other top programs right?

I have a feeling this year will be different - lots of buzz around the program, top 3 recruiting class and and evening kickoff. Weather permitting, this has the potential to be one of the most heavily attended spring games in recent years.
