2020 Presidential Election: let the jockeying commence

the level of paranoia here is amazing. The DNC is about as competent as my blind dog.

And the election promises of the candidates mean nothing. FDR campaigned for a balanced budget; Wilson would keep us out of war. President Bonespur was going to build this beautiful wall which Mexico would pay for. Etc.
Trump wants to drain the swamp; he is sort of like Earl Long----a lot of bs and self serving corruption. Like others before him.

I will say this for him: he has kept us out of any new wars. And unlike the first Republican president he hasn't shut down any newspapers or jailed a thousand journalists.

 

He also banned travel. Look at Europe (which didn’t ban travel). Europe is going to exceed China in total cases in about 7 days.

 

Dem debate tonight. It’s like a replay of Walter Mathau’s ‘Grumpy Old Men.’

Both are calling each other a liar. Sanders is hammering Biden on the bankruptcy reform act and Iraq war vote.

 

Joe just said he would have open borders for ANYONE unless they commit a felony....

These two are scary. No more oil industry on day one? Joe says he will make other countries pay if they dont fulfill their commitments. With what? Tariffs? Bernie has no answer for that same question. Its all pie in the sky big talk.

The darker shades are liberal leaning. Charlotte and Raleigh- Durham are very blue areas ( the Greensboro area / Piedmont triad is also heavily liberal)

It may not take that long. The non-Chinese cases already exceed the Chinese cases. In Europe, Spain
n had about 600 cases and 10 deaths last week. Yesterday, it had over 7,700 cases and 288 deaths. That's what prompted a major nationwide lockdown.

Germany hasn't gotten to that point, but it's coming. We've got about 4,000 cases, but with how fast this thing spreads, it's only a matter of time. Lots of people are already self-isolating. And of course, they're closing their borders.

 

This is what's happening to the Democrats. Even so-called "moderates" like Biden and Hillary promise to end deportations of anyone who isn't a violent offender - not just prioritize this deportations but end all others. They can spin it any way they want, but that is wildly radical. That kind of crap is how Trump won.

The moderator (or someone) should probably note that Biden was one of the key Dem Senators opposing aid to the Contras.

I’m not too worried about Joe on the oil & gas front. He’ll talk a good talk to appease the anti-oil idiots, but he won’t intentionally harm such a major industry. Delaware has a substantial chemical and petrochemical industry, as does next door Pennsylvania (which also has some big time E&P). He’ll take the lobbying $ and protect them like he’s always done with industries. He will raise taxes though. Think a geriatric Bill Clinton—just as creepy around much younger females too...

 

Because of their long history of integrity, I trust the DNC cancelling primaries and just taking mail ins. After all, we know who the people NEED not want.

 

Joe may not live through a full term. Even if he does, he won't be in charge. Think a 3rd term for Obama where he dismantles all of Trump's accomplishments.

 

Biden is a front for the extremists. Bringing Beto onstage is proof of that. It doesn't matter that he is an old corrupt white man. It's all about power and anyone who believe the Liberal elite are engaging in good faith sincerity must have some serious personal problems.

I am more convinced than ever that Liberals are traitors to our country and should be treated as we would treat traitors 150 years ago.

This country is headed towards another Civil War, Left and Right are going to have to either fight or go our separate ways. This isn't getting better, things that once would have brought us together are tearing us apart even more.

As far as I'm concerned, Trump is the only answer, we can't let another Democrat into the White house.

So very true. I thought Schumer’s immediate condemnation of Trump over the emerging disaster was pure hate.

 

When I think of far right, I think of Neo Nazis and maybe a few other hate groups. If someone wants to hate someone else, that is their prerogative. However if they act on that hate, then it becomes a crime. Lots of far right people are talkers but only a few are criminals.

I'd probably say the same for the far Left. However, we don't see Far right people trying to enact laws against Jews or Blacks or anyone. We do see far left people trying to take away the rights of people. Rights guaranteed by the constitution.

I don't justify either side, they are both criminal in my mind and should be dealt with as criminals. This country is not a socialist country and I would fight to keep it that way. Just like I would fight to make sure it isn't a fascist country.

The founding fathers gave us the 2nd Amendment because they knew first hand what it was like to live under a tyrant, and that any government even our government could become tyrannical. The 2nd Amendment is the right of power given to the people to truly control our government and if needs be take it back from the unjust men who control it. The government must fear the people because we have the power to overthrow them just like we did in our own Revolution.

Those who want to enslave our country must first take way our guns, then enact laws that take away our rights. Look at what is happening around us. They are banning guns, and our right to assemble.

Maybe this is some horrible virus, but the fact is, that it's a virus that the vast majority of people are not dying from yet we are just giving away our rights.

I'm anxious to see where this is going. Maybe I'm reading more into this than there is, or maybe there is something more sinister involved.
