Hmm. Piglet offered, but he is willing to walk on with the good guys. Grandpa may be a little bit miffed. Gotta love it. :hookem3:

Not the first time we have questioned the folks doing the rankings and won't be the last. Prolly the guys whose jobs depend on wins vs. losses are a touch better at judging ability than writers and bloggers.

Mahomes was a 3'star out of high school. He was #50 in the Texas 247 rankings and the #22 pro prospect in the 2014 class. Not exactly a household name but also not chicken feed. I'm pretty sure he was a higher ranked than Colt was coming out of high school.

I am surprised he was in the top 50 as a 3 Star.

He was a multisport star and everyone around there new whatever direction he went, he would succeed. The knew he was special. If yall know who Julia Morales is, she covered him for two years in high school and has some things about those days, if interested.

OTOH, he did go 12-13 as a starter his last two years there

He listened to his mother (who went to Stanford and not piglet) and not his grandfather and uncles.

Interesting. D-Line appears easier to project forward. Pretty amazing that the rest of the rosters have so many unranked and 2 stars.

    Zucker,

It’s known as the “Slocum Rule” because RC was the king of hiding players until Wednesday, later perfected by Scott Hill, when they mysteriously showed up with RC and signed with aTm or with Scott and signed with OU.

See also Bubba Bean and Johnny Hector, and later Billy Sims.

I hope this troubled young man gets it together and quick, or he may be headed there...

The kid needs some counseling, as in a licensed shrink, and also a mentor or two, or three. He has so much raw talent, but it's about 50/50 right now that it's all going to go to waste.

If we do miss on Rakestraw, we might make the late run at CB Edric Whitley of Pflugerville Weiss

Why not now? If the horse has already left the barn it will be difficult change saddles mid stride.

guess UT needs assurances that Rake is going elsewhere before jumping to Whiteley....only thing I've seen is that some in Ala think they have him.....won't know until tomorrow

What do we know of Whiteley
