We also offered 2020 ATH Jahari Rogers (6'0,170) from Arlington. He is a star QB now but will probably be a DB.

Nice field vision, speed, quickness and shiftiness. If QB doesn't work out in college for him, rather than DB or WR, he might make a smallish RB. He has some Eric Metcalf-like scat back in him. Players with these sorts of qualities often make good return men as well.

Arlington High has seemingly come out of nowhere to make some waves the last few years. He's obviously a big part of that.

We offered another Arizona product OT Tosh Baker (6'8,275). His mother is a Texas grad and is from El Paso. His father used to coach at SMU and UTEP. He is currently #12 in AZ overall

I also read he is ou legacy and is originally from Louisiana. He moved to Texas after Katrina.

So Rogers is an OU legacy. Mickens is an A&M legacy. It would be funny if we took both Mickens and Rogers from their parents' alma maters in the same year. I'm not sure if our staff wants Rogers or not (his film looks great from a running standpoint), but we've got to work hard for those highly-contested DFW-area recruits we want.

After a great conversation with @CoachHand I’m blessed to say I’ve received an offer to play at the University of Texas!!

I bet they talked about the effects of exchange rate manipulation on trade deficits, or something along those lines. :smokin:

If Mackovic was still around, perhaps the great conversation would've involved the proper soil acidity to grow an award winning Pinot Noir grape.

    It's Friday.

Glad to have the big man considering us!

We also offered explosive 5-star OLB Mekhail Sherman (6'3,234) from St. John’s College in Wash, DC. The #2 OLB nationally per 247. He also plays RB on their offense and has been clocked at 4.53 in the 40. He’s now the fifth OLB we have offered.

    Joe,

Are we allowed to have a LB that runs a sub 4.8?

aggy is having their Spring Game the same day as us, although theirs is at 1pm while ours is at night

Will be one of the first major indicators to see which way certain recruits are leaning. Also will be interesting to see who makes both games.

High 4-star CB Clark Phillips III of La Habra, CA will also be visiting Austin in the next few weeks. He supposedly likes Coach Naivar a lot.

He is another one of those would have benefited from a RS year. The defensive switch gave him another adjustment and perhaps took away his spot in CS' vision of the defense. But he still has another year of eligibility, so we will see. He does have physical talent.
