I think Texas took an important step in the recruitment of Virginia Beach (Va.) Princess Anne cornerback Tony Grimes today. Grimes saw Austin for the first time, and he was blown away by the experience. Texas A&M has a long relationship with Grimes and his family, but I wouldn’t bet against Jason Washington in this recruitment. Grimes and his father are evaluating multiple schools closely, but Texas established themselves as a player today.​

 

Another offer to a Missouri prospect -- 2021 4-star WDE Travion Ford (6'3,207 per Rivals) from St Louis Lutheran North. 247 has him as #1 in state, and both 247 and Rivals have him as a top 10 national weakside DE.

 

Assuming we missed on Texas top targets then?

 

He's is a 2021, already a high 4-star, potentially a top 100 national and offered by Bama/FSU.....

Maybe you are thinking of Jalen Logan-Redding who is a 3-star 2020 DE, also from Missouri?

Mike Roach on Ol Donovan Jackson at the Opening Finals

—2021 Bellaire Episcopal offensive lineman Donovan Jackson was probably the best Texas target I saw throughout the week. He absolutely dominated from the interior in the OL/DL portion and took home OL MVP honors. Jackson is so technically sound, and he uses his long arms so effectively. He moves with clean feet and has the strength to anchor against bigger rushers. Jackson frustrated upperclassmen all week, and he established himself as one of the elite offensive linemen in the country.​

 

2021 might go down as the greatest class of offensive linemen in Texas high school football history. I know I've been following recruiting since the early 80's and I can't think of a better class. Not even our class of beef from several years ago.

 

Top 10 for 2021 WDE Landon Jackson (6'6,240) from Texarkana - #7 in state

 

10 teams with 5 getting visits. Off the top of my head, I'm guessing Nebraska, Washington, and Miami won't get a visit. Arkansas will get a visit based on his location and Traylor being a witch doctor of a recruiter. Pretty sure Bama gets a visit. The last 3 visits are up in the air. blOwU, Texas, aggsy, LSU, and Notre Dame.

yea, but the two are from guys that aren't very good at picking winners. Perroni who thinks everyone is a aggsy lean and Elliott who probably uses a dart board to pick his teams.

247 is no better than Rivals, they sell their rankings to recruits so I'm unconcerned towards what they say.

 

Sometimes, TFB has inside info no one else has, which they must be coy about
In this case, they say we are definitely still in it, which is somewhat contrary to most of the other gurus
As with all things, we will see

and a 4.59 in the shuttle which is confirmed from one of the regional Openings
And FWIW Rivals says he "plays faster than his 40 time"
