Now Roach walks back his Uke optimism

Talked to a source before his announcement who said it’s pretty tight but he’s leaning Stanford. I have hardly any service here but will try to get stuff up on social.

    Now Vogel too

Confidence has faded enough to make me think he heads west. A little north at that.

That goofy tree still has our number

It's really tough to beat tree is they really care about academics. No one with a decent FB program can. Plus, you can't beat living in Palo Alto for free for 4 years.

Yep, particularly when East Palo Alto (murder capital of America) is only 8-10 blocks away.

On the other hand, Stanford brags that they have NEVER flunked a player out of school. Must be one helluva support staff.

I’m surprised and disappointed, given Sark’s’s recent background and his OL coach, why these kids wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to come to Texas.

There’s nothing like being on the ground floor of something new and big. Of course, we will see if that turns out to be the case. But Stanford has been wallowing in mediocracy recently.

Percy was the Principal is Kimball HS and was an influencer to make sure the kids in South Dallas went elsewhere.

I shuddered every time he walked out as our referee, although he and DKR were friends.

He also combined with Bill Began to make sure NO ONE from Houston was allowed to be an SWC official, When the man who was the #1 requested HS referee in the state, and who usually did two or three State Championship games, couldn't break in the Percy Penn Club even though he had letters of recommendation from 8 of 9 SWC HCs, something was rotten in South Oak Cliff and Nottingham Forest.

Some comments from Sarkisian and staff

-- said a lot of the focus has been getting up to speed on the 2022 and 2023 classes
-- addressing the need at the hybrid OLB/DE position in Pete Kwiatkowski’s defense was "a must"
-- see David Abiara growing into a 265-270 pound defensive end
-- like the length of Ishmael Ibraheem
-- we have four scholarship spots left. We will look to the portal

Sark said there’s a lot of work to be done now on the development side --
"We have to be the best developmental staff in the country."
“That’s where we can really increase the value of our team."

No need to have sour grapes about it. We have never done well against Stanford when it comes to recruits.
Donald Hawkins was even steering him towards us.
Hopefully being a consistent contender from here out will help alleviate that.

If I was smarter and better at school, and better at sports, I might have gone there.

    More from Sark --

-- likes the quality of players, but not the depth
-- in particular likes the depth at WR, TE.
-- not as comfortable with the depth at inside linebacker. He likes those types of guys to fill out special teams units.
"I’m not as comfortable with the depth at the inside linebacker position. I do think there’s quality players there. I’m talking just sheer depth."
-- CB is another area where Sarkisian said the Longhorns need bodies
-- offensive line needs to be a focus for Texas in the 2022 class.

    More Sarkisian --
-- there be years he takes only one quarterback in a class. Other years he'll take two. The most important thing is to be honest with them about the plan
-- "I think we’ve got two front-line guys to start the process."
    -- Mentioned Card's skillset
The positives for playing at Texas are easy. Sark: "The negative is we’re new. We’re just getting on board and what’s it going to look like."

    More Sarkisian --
-- Ja’Tavion Sanders will get a look on both offense and defense, but they’ll have a better idea of where to start him after spring practice.
“My job is to put him in the best position to have success.”
