Well, with visitations severely limited, other options are definitely reduced. Saw Rucci went to Wisconsin. Wondered if he had have visited here. Jonah Miller had UT last on his OV list until UO closed him out.
Whoa Joe. Are you saying that Tommy's and James' parents "don't want" them to come to UT? That is not the case. I promise you. And Auburn having an O line coach with NFL experience is not going to bowl over the Brockermeyers. As you said, Blake has double digit years in the NFL. The boys have had the benefit of their Dad's input forever. As Sabre and I and others have said, these young men would love to come to UT. The family would love for them to as well. But the family is leaving this decision to the boys. Which is only right. These kids are Herman's to lose. Period. If he can't sell UT to them, seal the deal, then he's got serious problems. And Hornfans everywhere will be knocking on TH's door demanding an answer to the question put by Sabre above: "How did YOU **** this up?"
I think I was responding to the poster above who said he didnt get why "this is such a big deal." "This" being whether the Brocks go to Texas.
Perhaps for us Texas hopeful fans. What really matters, is it persuasive for them? I think that academics is where Texas triumphs especially as both have NFL potential.
I know this has been stated several times but if we have a season and if we have a very successful season then perhaps these kids will rethink their position.
Burnt orange LH....If you really think academics plays a part of more than maybe 1-2 recruits a year coming here you're living in a fantasy world. These guys that think they're going to the NFL could give a sheet. And those 1-2 recruits will say that only to complement the University and that it matters to them. And I would bet a ton of $$$ that the Brocks are coming here.
Two CB for Jaden Alexis to Texas He mentioned he is impressed by the Business School. Jaden Alexis's Crystal Ball Predictions
I did not read the context of this exchange, but...got me thinking...I wonder how, if at all, travel and lodging might affect attendance for away games...even for is in Dallas or B Rouge but more so with schools who have longer distances to travel and flights involved. Could provide for interesting home field advantages. Will be interesting to see our attendance in BR and also interesting to see how Dallas and the Cotton Bowl handle that game...along with fan response.
I think what could happen is all the Under 24 crowd will be just fine. Or 99.99% of them will be perfectly healthy. But there will be one person, probably with some underlying health issue heretofore unknown who will get sick, maybe die, and that person will be made into a martyr. And he (probably a he) will become a celebrity in death, all the sports haters will unite and the whole thing will get shut down over it. But, its just a guess, based on where I see modern American society at the moment.
To anyone that asks my opinion on what to expect ahead the first thing I say is...The question isn't will things restart but will they continue uninterrupted after starting. Most things will return to "normal" in the Summer and Fall - schools, sports, shows....in most areas...but when CV rears its head in that "arena" all bets are off and freak-out will ensue. I dont think we will see nationwide shut down, but individual entity/arena of interest interruptions or stoppage. I mean, imagine if a few teachers or students at a public school get it while class is in what the response will be.
I probably should have posted the article here, too, since it impacts recruiting.... Brand agency: Sam Ehlinger could make close to $1 million from NIL
It's been my feeling that this won't stop the cheating. It helps the players and maybe makes it a bit easier to say no to under the table money; especially big money. But a booster is a booster is a booster and they will look to equalize this out by possibly subsidizing the delta...
Real large fan base also. But would someone like Flaker Mayfold thrive at QB in the University of Texas environment? Jameis Winston? Terrele Pryor?
We also need to recognize the full potential monetization of the LHN - like maybe take some control away from RTF and give it to the Grad School of Business. Stop acting like we are embarrassed about it. Instead, let us put it to its highest and best use.
