I completely agree that the Dems would fan the mean tweet angle.
But as mb pointed out Trump policies worked. There is not dem living or dead who can refute that.
So is there another "Trump" out there ? DeSantis is the closest I have seen who is willing to do what is right for his state, politics be damned.

^Good point, 6721. I could certainly support DeSantis. I will support the GOP nominee regardless. Again, my fear is that Trump on the ballot would energize the Democrats to get out the vote against Trump.
Frankly, I don't see how the Democrats can win on their own merits in 2024. If Biden wants the nomination, they have two losing choices - (1) nominate Joe and watch the voters reject him based on his record or (2) deny him the nomination and try to defend their record while repudiating a sitting POTUS. And if Biden chooses not to run, who do they have that they can nominate? If Joe bows out and Kamala wants the nomination, they face the same Hobson's choice - (1) nominate her and watch the bloodbath or (2) toss her aside and try to find a viable candidate while trying to defend their record of the last four years.
Things can change in the next two years, but the Democrats are certainly digging themselves into a huge hole. IMO, the election is there for the GOP if we don't screw it up.

That is PRECISELY why they want DJT on the ballot. The Demonrats would not be voting FOR a candidate. They would be turning out for the ability to vote AGAINST DJT...

One can argue in favor of Trump's policies (which often didn't match his rhetoric). However, a lot of voters (enough to decide elections) don't vote on policy. They vote on branding and what they associate a candidate with.

My money is on the dumbocrats finding a way to nominate Hillary. As awful as that hag is, she is still about the best they have to offer. Let that sink in. Hillary f'ing Clinton is the best national candidate the dems can trot out there.

Hard to imagine Hillary being the nominee. She'll be 77, and she seemed very old in 2016. By '24, she'll have to carry a colostomy bag. Biden seems more gone mentally. She seems more gone physically.

I'm not even considering that angle. I'm just talking about whether she could physically do it. Even if she was a model citizen, I don't think she could do it.

DeSantis would win bigger than Trump because he would unite the neocons and populist factions of the republican party. However, don't kid yourself that Trump wouldn't beat Biden.

Need to convert neocons to paleocons. Neocons are part of the problem.

Garmel, that may be true - but if Trump is the nominee, it would ignite the Dems to get out the vote. And even if Trump won on the national level, the increased Dem turnout (to vote against Trump) could swing some local elections their way. I would like to see a very low Dem turnout - so the GOP wins the White House and down-ballot races.

I updated my numbers above (lower) since I forgot that GOP is currently only short 5 seats (vs 20 or so in typical years before a red wave).

With Elon buying Twitter and likely ending bans, Trump is likely back on Twitter. Probably will be a reminder for folks not to vote for Trump in a primary. Trump had a better chance if he was still banned.

    Gonorrhea Lectim

This Is Serious………….The Center for Disease Control has issued a
warning about a new virulent strain of this old disease! The disease
is called Gonorrhea Lectim. It's pronounced "Gonna re-elect 'em",and
is capable of crippling our current population. The disease is
contracted through dangerous and high risk behavior involving putting
your cranium up your rectum. Many victims contracted it in 2020 when
they elected Joe Biden and Liberal Progressives into power and are now
starting to realize how destructive this sickness is. It's sad because
Gonorrhea Lectim is easily cured with a new drug just coming on the
market called Votemout. It's pronounced "Vote-em-out." It can be
picked up at your local pharmacy without a doctor's prescription. You
take the first dose now. The second dose should be taken just before
the 2022 elections, otherwise, it could eventually wipe out all WOKE
life as we presently know it in the USA.

^Does that mean that the GOP will need to post poll-watchers in the cemeteries to keep the Dems honest? :)
