And she's a bit of a decepticon. I've seen her looking pretty cute, but at other times I look at her and wonder who let the dogs out.

I suspect he's signaling to the base. Of course, he defeated the actual Democrat (Nikki Fried) in the primary who was considered more liberal, and when he was a Republican governor, he probably pissed off teachers unions at some point since virtually all Republican governors do even when they try to work with them. This move tells them he'll ***** for them now (meaning he'll flip-flop again), and he's going to make education an issue with Desantis. That means he's going to loudly and proudly come out in favor of talking about dicks with 5-8 year olds.

 

Someone on Twitter said this move was made for his true audience - the national Dem party.

In a state like Ohio, he's a fool to do that. His best chance is to try to be a Joe Manchin.

Hard to believe that Ohio used to elect John Glenn and Howard Metzenbaum to the Senate, though neither of them were as nutty as the current party.

Perhaps, but I honestly never thought Gretchen Whitmer was ugly. She's not hot by any means, but when we're talking about female politicians, you can do a hell of a lot worse. However, Tudor Dixon blows her away.

 

Agree, Whitmer is a decent looking older lady. Tudor is just a much hotter version.

Both Oz and Fetterman screwing up. Link. Apparently Oz offered some "concessions" to debate Fetterman that were obviously ridiculing his health after the stroke. Very stupid - very tasteless and politically foolish with no upside. However, Fetterman responded by pulling out of the debate, which greatly suggests that Oz's narrative about Fetterman's health is true, even if it's massively assholic and juvenile.

 

Resigning his seat to prepare for the upcoming ***-kicking.

 

And if they hold a special election, Crist's seat will almost surely flip.

 

I hope DeSantis does that as quickly as possible but logistically is it even possible?

 

Of course, that's the story from the Times. Anything that looks bad for a Democrat is Republicans pounce. However, Oz should have handled it better. Instead of ****-talking, he should have simply challenged Fetterman to a debate. We'd get to the same result without Fetterman having at least an arguably plausible excuse that the media will reinforce.

 

Meh. The media was going to take any opportunity to slam Oz.

I don't think he is the best choice in the Senate, but he is better than Fetterman, especially post-stroke. The voters in PA deserve to see how incapacitated Fetterman might really be. Otherwise, it is special election time in 120 days when he cannot hack it in the Senate.

 

Of course they were going to slam Oz, but he didn't have to help them do it.

 

We just threw away the House seat in Alaska. Luckily we'll get it back in November.
