What happened to pitcher from Houston?

Jordyn Bahl played 2A in Nebraska and is so far....I'm unhappy to say 21-1 with a 0.95 ERA.

Agreed. If there's one thing Mike is good at is attracting one good transfer pitcher to come to Texas. This year he was....1 for 3.

I would imagine NIL money will come into play for future elite pitching transfers. I believe Texas is prepared for that today. The theme of the day seems to be “Show me the money!” I don’t like the currant atmosphere surrounding NIL but….what ever it takes!

Honestly any good player getting an NIL deal should stay in school as long as possible. Get paid to play and get a Master's, can't beat that. There's no WSBNA and any professional deal probably won't match a good NIL deal.:idk:

Goodness what happened to O’Leary. She was our ace last season and it just went way south. I don’t know if she is dealing with an injury or dealt with an injury but she went back to her old pitching form and didn’t look the same whatsoever.

It worries me that Dolcini is our only reliable pitcher right now. At this rate she’s going to have to pitch every game in the post season.

We’re in trouble. At this time of the year you’re not supposed to have the worst pitching performance of the season and probably school history. This was just embarrassing

Going to be a very interesting off season. Will be a tough future if this is indicative of the show we take to the SEC.

Don't see this team going far in the tournament anyway. If they even get in. So let her pitch till her arm falls off.

They’ll definitely get in but this game might have cost them a chance to host. I don’t think we’ll go far since we only have one reliable pitcher. Mike White needs to bring in at least three transfer pitchers because we have a tough future if these are our pitchers for the next few years.

I just heard pitcher from Baylor is a sophmore. Did any of you know of her in high school?

Yeah she went to new braunfels canyon and was an absolute stud in her time in high school. I watched her a couple times in her senior year of playoffs and she led her team to the state tournament.

Barring this loss we were sitting very pretty for a 13/14, but I do not see that happening now. Seems other teams also on the bubble have been losing recently but not 17-3…we just lost 17-3, to a team a few games above .500. Even if we do wind up getting one of the last host seeds we would play either OU, VT, or UCLA in the Supers so I would almost rather not be seeded and hope we get put into a regional and super of middle seeds.

I wouldn’t give us a host seed. This was embarrassing. You used to be able to make a World Series run with just one pitcher, not anymore; offenses are too good. And as good as Hailey has been we have given her no run production against top teams anyway.

Before the season started I did not see this happening. I thought we would be better than last year, maybe host a Super. Whatever has happened to Shea has really hurt us.

Whenever this season ends I predict it will not be a quiet off-season. This program was built to compete for championships. CDC will do whatever is necessary. Even tho I don't like it, I think the NIL is legally changing college athletics.

Absolutely pathetic. Worst loss of the season. I'm not sure which is worse, watching this team walk the game away or having to hear Alex Lobe scream for the other team. Damn, he makes me sick. Please just give me Cat by herself than that idiot.

I have no confidence in porn stache White. There are some things you absolutely can't let happen and letting your pitcher walk the bases loaded is near #1.

I too have had my issues with some of Coach's decisions this year but I haven't loss faith that he can fix what is broken with this team. When we moved on from Coach Clark I thought we were lucky to get Mike White. Now I think we are wayy too invested to move again...this soon.

I don't have a problem with Mike White. He's rejuvenated a team that had trended down and wasn't showing much promise of coming back up. Let's face it, Connie rode the team on one great pitcher that starred for 4 years, great fielding and weak hitting.

This is is absolute worst year because ALL but 1 pitcher are just terrible. And yes, he is the pitching coach. So he has responsibilities there. And yes, the fielding has gotten worse each year he's been there. He'd better make some coaching changes to fix that and he certainly isn't going to fire the pitching coach.

We've been to the last 2 super regionals and I'm not sure we'll get of of this year's regional. But, still back Mike.

Yeah he is the pitching coach but having Cat close to the team will help with pitchers in general. I love her knowledge of the game, especially pitchers. I don't want her to go anywhere.

Coach White's recruiting decisions have really come home to roost this year. He
missed completely on Raleigh White and may have missed on Simpson. In addition
O'leary cratered (on his watch) and Estelle Czech didn't pan out. But she was not brought in to be a rotational starter. The ineffective performances of O'leary and Simpson forced hime to go to Czech. Dolcini is a seasoned performer and there was nothing this staff could do to screw her up. Coach White has put himself and the program in a big hole. He was hired to close the gap with OU and OSU. He hasn't
done it. Everything else is details. The gap is as wide as ever.

I think Coach White must be given more time to right this ship. We have 2 amazing recruiting classes on the way. Nothing you said is wrong. But its going to take more time to fix what is broken with our team. Losing that pitcher that walked away and then to okst set us back. These last 2 years could have been much different.

I don’t think losing one player offsets your program that much. Our problems go much deeper than Miranda Elishs’ absence.

I agree losing Miranda hurt but we still have a lot of talent. Our problem is our inability to throw strikes and our horrible defensive play. Our defense has been terrible for years now so whoever is in charge of that aspect needs to be replaced. Pitching has been up and down this season and not where it should be at this point. I don’t like what NIL is doing to college athletics but Mike White needs to bring in two elite pitchers via the portal. Whatever it takes because this is not it.

Mike White has given us offense. Under CC we had the top pitching staff and defense in the B12 most years other than OU, some years we were better in this regards, and we were top 10 or so in the nation consecutively, but we could not score. Our team ERA and F% were phenomenal but our team BA was abysmal every year.

Cat Osterman did not win a national championship, that’s all you need to know about our offense historically. Since the coaching change we are hitting tenfold better but can’t field or pitch, it’s a trade off.

Paige Von Sprecken was a very good pitcher.. as was Tiara Davis, but we never had the offense to support them. They had all around great numbers but finished with records around .500.

The offense has greatly improved, but defense and pitching has gotten much worse. I prefer to have great pitching and defense but in recent history we had no success until we found the offense

In softball it matters. I guarantee we don't make it to the world series without Cat. With shut down pitching and decent defense all you have to score is two runs to win a lot of games. With Miranda having this team behind her we would be in single digit losses this year.

We can accurately diagnose the symptoms of this program's failings - it's all
pretty obvious - and don't forget the repeated mistakes by Mike as 3rd base coach
which has resulted in far too many easy outs at home and especially against top
twenty teams. But the only question that matters is "has Mike closed the gap between us and OU/OSU?" After all that's why he was hired. The answer is not yet.
And can he be the guy to do it? That is CDC's question to answer.

Racer I beleive Coach Clark had more success than just Cat's 4 years. Seems I remember making it to the World Series once or twice without Cat, we just didn't have any hitting.
