Preseason Rankings Doesn’t mean anything but it’s interesting to see how the voters have things lined up this early. Let’s check back in a few weeks and see how the standings have changed. Just Win Baby!
Thanks Dionysus! I'll skip speculation on UT as I've done it elsewhere. However, I will speculate TCU will not finish in the top 20.
After week 1, this schedule has me gruntled. That said...I am trying not to get too excited because this team's recent past history and the fact that I expect some of the teams on the schedule to be better by the time we play them. Week 1 is always tough, but I think there are 2-3 teams on our schedule that probably shouldn't have lost (or maybe they should have since they looked pretty bad).
I suspect the frogs are still in shock from Sat. and they possibly drop out of the top 25 this week....
They play Nicholls State. If they lose that one, they will most definitely disappear from the rankings, kind of like aggy and their annual roller coaster.
I was surprised at the offense from TCU on saturday. I think Kendall Briles is a legit OC and will be HC soon. Have to give CU credit as the qb was recruited and offered by bama, georgia and such. He is not a fluke regardless of prime trying to play the underdog card. TCU is not the typical Gary Patterson defense so they easily could improve from game 1 to game 2 like a lot of teams. Time will tell.
looks like our remaining two best opponents are OU and k st. k st. at home( oh, also the conference championship game) We will be favored in each remaining game. As of right now we have the easiest path to the playoffs. we just got to take care of business.
We have almost certainly seen our toughest regular season opponent already If we don’t stumble the rest of the way we should be in the playoff If we get there, I don’t know, but it could be a special year We can’t play down to anyone the rest of the way
Especially this season. And there is always the threat of those wannabe spoilers in the commissioners office too.
I don't see one game on the schedule that doesn't concern me. Can we beat them all by 3 tds+?. Yeah, we should. If what we all saw last Saturday is any indication, this is a different kind of team. Different mindset altogether.
Fun fact. Season to date Texas' opponents are a combined 17-3 playing teams not named Texas and Baylor accounts for 2 of the 3 losses. 5-0 OUsux is up next.
That's a good stat to know, especially as the season progresses. Is there a good website that tracks this particular detail?
Not that I know. I just like to look a how our opponents are doing after we play them, which is very well, so I added everything up.
