Well some form of scouting and recruiting is happening. Not sure for what class, and possibly even portal players(?), so linking this in this off season thread.
I’m pretty sure this the first weekend of big club ball tournaments so I’d guess recruiting for ‘24 & ‘25.
3/4 of the staff are headed to Hampton, VA. Looks like that is for Boo Williams: Boo Williams Girls Nike Invitational - Apr 21-23, 2023 - Hampton, VA If you click on the "teams" link, looks like everyone will be there, including Cy Fair.
Diamond Miller (Maryland), Azzi Fudd (UConn), Deja Kelly(UNC), Georgia Amoore (Virginia Tech), Gianna Kneepkens (Utah), Hailey Van Lith (transfer portal, Louisville), KK Bransford (Notre Dame), Raven Johnson (South Carolina) and Rori Harmon (Texas).
Interesting question when we live in a world where the Men’s game is all male coaches, but sure, let’s question why all women instead.
I’m sure a few female head coaches mention supporting women coaches when they’re recruiting against Vic, Geno and other male HCs. Off the top of my head, Vic has 5 former women assistants that are now D1 head coaches - I’d put that track record up against any other WBB coach regardless of gender (especially since he’s only been a HC for 11 years).
Coach and player relationship gone a bit too far Miami (Ohio) women’s basketball coach DeUnna Hendrix resigns after texts reportedly show relationship with player
Charlie (really got nothing better to do) Creme just put out his latest way-to-early top 25 again. I won't dwell on who he put at the top other than to say its going to be fun watching them fail. But he now has bAiler at #13 (Lol) and us at #20. There are multiple teams above us that just shouldn't be there, but whatever. LSU replaces UConn at No. 1 in Way-Too-Early Top 25
Because she’s a year early! Graduated in three years. It is becoming common for the athletes who are good students. They start college in the summer after high school graduation and go year round.
Well deserved! I have been really impressed with her. Oklahoma State Cowgirls coach Jacie Hoyt’s contract details released
Was thinking about this yesterday. There’s really no excuse for her to continue to be without a backup, or heaven forbid, a more or less equal counterpart.
I remember (not by name) a poster or two who were disagreeing with me vehemently that Rori didn't need any rest; she got her rest while injured the first 8 games of the season so that should have given her more energy and stamina to play 40 minutes every game after she returned from injury
good to hear Maul is ready to go. I swear last month Vic said she wasn’t going to be ready by the start of the season but I’m not complaining. We need her healthy to take some of the load off Harmon at point guard.
I saw that A&M added a new assistant coach from the previous TCU staff. If the NCAA approved another position, does that mean Vic will be hiring a new addition?
