Here's my list of the 2023 recruits on Texas' radar. Feel free to add or subtract from my list because following high school girls' basketball recruiting is not an exact science.
- Mikaylah Williams; 6'0" Guard, Louisianna (#1 ESPN)
- Breya Cunningham; 6'4" Post, California (#4 ESPN)
- Madison Booker; 6'1" Wing, Mississippi (#6 ESPN)
- Sammie Wagner; 6'1" Wing, Texas (#17 ESPN)
- Sayvia Sellers; 5'7" PG, Alaska (#30 ESPN)
- Gisella Maul; 5'11" Guard, Texas (#45 ESPN)
To my knowledge, Sayvia Sellers has not been discussed as a 2023 recruit in this thread. Sayvia was recently named the Gatorade Alaska Girls Basketball Playaer of the Year. This season, she averaged 24 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 4.5 steals per game. She has offers from Utah, Washington State, Oklahoma, Arizona, Kentucky, Cal, Gonzaga, TCU, Tulsa, Washington, USC and Ohio State. I don't know if Texas has extended an offer to Sellers but she is followed by all three of our assistant coaches on social media. There seems to be mutual interest between Sellers and Texas, as Sellers has liked numerous Texas WBB messages over the past few days.
Although Alaska is a long distance from Texas, it's not unthinkable that a high school athlete from Alaska could choose Texas. Lydia Jacoby is from Seward Alaska and is a 2022 commit to the Tx Swimming and Diving team. She won the gold medal in the 100 meter breaststroke in the 2021 Olympics.
