Just like yesterday that the Horns made an epic comeback against the East Carolina pirates (east coast version of the tech red raiders).

My educated guess on our starting rotation at the beginning of the year will be:

    Friday—Lucas “Geno” Gordon
    Saturday—Charlie Hurley
    Sunday—Zane Morehouse or DuPlantier
    Weekday—DuPlantier or Zane Morehouse

Chris Stuart, Pierce George, or others might give Morehouse and/or DuPlantier competition for the #3 and #4 starting roles.

Some Middle relievers who could pitch plenty of innings in any given game:

    LBJ
    Tole Heston
    Chris Stuart
    Pierce George
    Walbridge

Of course, if Tanner Witt is back in form, he’ll lead this staff and team.

Tanner Witt is wild card for this season, he comes back in form and Texas goes from long shot to Omaha to much better odds.

There is already a starter at a key position who is down for the season.

    No need to be cryptic.

Please tell me it's not Kennedy, Campbell, or O'Dowd...

    Or Porter...

I gave you his initials so it not any of those 4.Maybe the team and/or family want to announce on their own timeline. Just giving a nugget that's all.

Got it. Hope he heals up and has no long term damage. He brings a strong powerful bat to the plate on offense. Sorry to lose him this year.

I see that we open conference play with the three teams that won conference series against us last season: Tech, TCU and K-State. The Big 12 is hoping we dig a hole for ourselves to begin the season.

At last, an actual "official journalist" who gets this team!
    And from Sports Illustrated!

Five Bold Predictions for Longhorns Baseball in 2023

    1. Zane Morehouse has a breakout season.
    Sports Illustrated's projected stats for Zane Morehouse in 2023: 7-3 / 3.92 ERA / 115 strikeouts
    2. UT leads the Big 12 in pitching, AGAIN
Sports Illustrated's projected Team ERA for 2023 - 4.10 (compare to 4.20 last year)
    3. Dylan Campbell = Big 12 Player of the Year
    4. We lose no more than 3 games in March?
    5. We return to Omaha!!!
    :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

It's good to see some more objective people believing in our pitching this year. And people are taking notice of Dylan Campbell. The last 1/3 of the season he was on fire. :fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire:

"They're a rather young team who lost a lot of offensive firepower, and their staff ace [not really says Chop, Gordon had by far the lowest ERA of any of our starters and was clearly our best (and the Big 12's best) starting pitcher last year, so although he pitched Saturdays instead of Fridays; Gordon was our staff ace last year], which is hard for any team to overcome.

However, the talent is there. The aforementioned guys plus a talented coaching staff led by David Pierce can compete with anyone. As such, look for the Longhorns to make their 39th trip to the College World Series, this time hopefully playing more than two games."

    Overall, a good write up.

Also, Kendall Roger’s thinks the same thing I do about the offense.

I forgot all about this, i didn't think it was going to be anything. I hope its not something too serious, he played through the issue in the fall world series and now out for the season. Prayers up for the young guy if its more than something beyond just a sports injury that can heal.

i"m going to take a stab at the starting lineup:

    1. Jared Thomas 1B
    2. Kennedy CF
    3. Campbell RF
    4. Porter LF
    5. O'Dowd 2nd
    6. Flores 3rd
    7. Guillemette C
    8. Belyeu DH (although i think this position is completely up for grabs)
    9. Daly SS
Bench players that I think will flirt with being starters or lots of playing time: Ace Whitehead, Tanner Carlson, Rylan Galvan, Jayden Duplantier, Cade O'Hara

    Rotation:
    Gordon
    Hurley
    Shaw

    Relievers
    Luke Harrison
    Chris Stuart
    Sthele
    Tole
    Duplantier
    LBJ Jr.
    George
    Grubbs
    Minchey
    Lummus

    Closer:
    Zane Morehouse

Yep. Looks like he's not there anymore. He was there in the Fall. I wonder what happened. Hopefully he's ok. He's got big time talent. Hate to see it go to waste.

(if it turns out he's portaling to LSU, I'm throwing my computer out the window...)
