2024-2025 Season

Hi UT Tennis Fan,

I am writing from Waco, where we are in the final days of our preparation for our NCAA Quarterfinal match vs UCLA (Friday at 7 pm). I know it is a late match, but it is also a big opportunity for this team, and I am writing to make one final push to our fans in Texas to make the effort to come support. Find a hotel room and stick around for the weekend if we make it through. If we manage a win vs UCLA the semis would be Saturday at 7 pm, and the final Sunday at 7 pm. Please consider supporting this special group of Longhorns! Here is a detailed preview of Friday night's showdown with UCLA.

Thanks for following our team all season. We appreciate it!

Hook'em!

Sincerely,
Bruce Berque

HI UT Tennis Fan,

Our team had a great 4-1 win over UCLA last night in the NCAA Quarters (full recap) to advance to the NCAA Final Four for the 5th time in the last 6 NCAA Championships. Thanks to all the loyal Longhorns who showed up and stayed to support us all the way to the end. Tonight we will take on TCU at 7 pm in the NCAA Final Four. The match will once again be at the Hurd Tennis Center on the campus of Baylor University in Waco. There is no doubt the TCU fans will show up. We need our fans to do the same! I know it is late, but we would sure appreciate all the help we can get. This is a special group, and they are worthy of a big and loud Texas crowd. Thanks so much, and Hook'em!

Sincerely,

Bruce Berque

Hi UT Tennis Fan,

Our run at the NCAA tournament came to an end on Saturday night, as we lost a hard fought 4-2 match to TCU in the semifinals. Naturally, everyone is disappointed, but I could not be prouder of our players for everything they accomplished this season, and for the way they represented Texas. Playing without star freshman Oliver Ojakaar since early March, and after losing Eliot, Micah, GA, Siem, Cleeve, Evin, and Eshan after last season, this team went 29-5 (most wins since 1975), made the semifinal of both the National Indoors and the NCAA's, won both the SEC regular season and tournament championships, finished #3 in the country, once again ended the year with the nation's #1 ranked player (Timo Legout), and had the highest GPA of any team at UT (3.74). Now it is time for a little break, to heal up, and then to get back to the journey of getting better and climbing the mountain. Thanks so much for all your support this year. We appreciate you! Hook'em!

Sincerely,

Bruce Berque

Thanks for these updates all year long. I don't have time to watch and follow all the Longhorn teams like I would like. This goes a long way to keeping me updated. Maybe when I retire I'll be able to see more.

Thank You for responding! I'm just an avid tennis player, UT fan who wants to share the coach's commentary. ; )
