well, I don't know. If we only get 18 we might finish between 6-10 in rankings.

Sadly, “commitment” isn’t really a commitment anymore.
We should change the word to “Really Interested”.

With these kids focused on NIL rather than an education, I think it’s appropriate for a school to be able to have a contract signed before actual signing day to slow these fake commitment that are designed to drive up bidders.
Maybe signing day is going to be a thing of the past.

Knowing the NCAA, their next ruling will probably allow a recruit to spend one week in Spring Training with four different schools before choosing, and then he'll probably pick a fifth school.

This is a very interesting point that I think probably deserves it's own thread. You are absolutely correct that since it's now more about the money and less about education and the school we should be able to sign them to a contract when they decide the money is right. Forget about "commitments" and make it about signing the deal. Signing day is now an antiquated thought. If those kids want big boy money they should have to make big boy contracts legally binding them to their decisions.

IT was told today that RB Jerrick Gibson is planning on making a summer commitment.

The talk around IMG is any school other than Texas would be a surprise, and Gibson speaks with RB Cedric Baxter, Jr. reguarly.

With the offense UT has, I don’t think they should have a punter on the roster

If he is as good as our Aussie star punter a few years ago, then this is a real weapon.

Hopefully we'll get lots and lots of commits. But right now, all the visits falls under this famous quote by John Wooden:

    "Never mistake activity for accomplishment"

Every now and then, the team will face a fourth-and-long - that's when you're glad you have a top-notch punter.

You mean the All American who has been All Pro. He was the best college punter in the nation. I don’t think those kinds of punters come along very often. But yes, that would be wonderful.

247 saying TE Ryner Swanson of Laguna Beach, CA has scheduled his Texas official for June 2nd.
He has been leaning UT's way for a while and it's possible he will leave Austin committed.

Texas went to see CB Wardell Mack of Marrero, LA this week.

They heard Coach PK tagged along for the journey, and that's a good sign the staff feels they have a shot here.

Texas is trying to get an official visit from Oregon WR commitment Jordan Anderson of Newport Beach, CA since they view him as a "must get."

He's already been on campus once, loved Austin and the idea of playing with Manning.

Seems like we just had our cant miss receiver of equal stature leave for ou. I sure hope one of these days these cant miss actually show up and prove the hype right.

Hamilton at IT said he's close to putting in a Texas prediction for DT Isaia Faga from Phenix City, AL.

He's been telling colleges for at least two months that he's going to de-commit from Utah despite his strong family ties to that program, but he hasn't yet.

If you are talking about Zion Kearny, UT was not pursuing him.
The 2 top instate are Bakersnd Hudosn. Both are still non committed.
