I would think that the Saban years are numbered. He’s 71 and how can a 20024+ recruit believe that there would not be a head coaching change in his future at Bama?
It'll happen eventually. Joe Pa coached until he was fired @ age 75. Bobby Bowden coached until he was 80. Saben's run won't last forever, but he may still pull in top talent for another year or so. I'll personally be glad when his run is over. Problem is Kirby is still relatively young. I hope Sark becomes the next Saben. Not an impossibility.
It does feel like the landscape could be shifting. Saban’s run won’t last forever and if he has a down year (for him, in 2023, as some predict), that would further open the door to a new leader emerging. True, that is Georgia now, but it could be Texas — moving to the SEC — “if” Sark gets the job done on the field this fall. No doubt, he will have the horses.
OL Juan Gaston of Atlanta, GA tells On3 he will be in Austin on June 3rd. He is a 25' He has an offer. Juan Gaston, Westlake, Offensive Tackle
Oh, he's going to have a down year after Texas hands him only his second home loss in the last 8 years. 2007 was his program building year where he lost 6 games. In the last 15 years since then Alabama has lost a grand total of 5 home games. That's a tough place to win.
OL Blake Ivy of League City Clear Springs has his official visit to Texas on June 17th. He mentioned he may bump that to mid-week of the following week. Blake Ivy, Clear Springs, Offensive Tackle
LB Montay Weedon of Washington, D.C. will officially visit Texas on June 17th with his family. Montay Weedon, St. John's, Linebacker
And my prediction is that if some of these normally powerhouses slip (Bama, USC, The U, Aggie again, LSU, tOSU) kids will decommit. Not a landslide, but if UT wins it could change the landscape on some of these local kids going to a foreign land. I’m good as some of these committed GA, Bama, tOSU are going to be sad to see competition get signed at their position at a school they committed to early.
