Saw a tweet today that showed Ariel Atkins is leading the Big 12 in 3-pt Shooting Percentage at 80% through 5 games (2nd in FG % at 73%). Took a look at the stats and this year's team is doing much better when shooting from distance. Currently, as a team, they have hit on 37 of their 99 attempts (37.4%). Exclude the freshmen, who are a combined 4 of 28, and the team % climbs to 46.5%. The Horns are averaging 19.8 attempts/game.

    Top 5 3pt Shooters by Attempts (Makes-Attempts-%):
    1. Brooke McCarty: 11 - 22 - 50.0%
    2. Destiny Littleton: 3 - 16 - 18.8%
    3. Alecia Sutton: 6 - 14 - 42.9%
    4. Ariel Atkins: 8 - 10 - 80.0%
    5. Jada Underwood: 4 - 7 - 57.1%
    5. Chasity Patterson: 1 - 7 - 14.3%

Obviously some of these numbers will decline as the season wears on although Brooke's may not fall far and I would expect the freshman to improve after they get their legs under them. Destiny's shot looked much better in the 3rd game than it did in the first 2.
Brooke recently took the 5th spot in UT history in makes and has a shot at finishing with the best career 3-pt shooting % in program history (currently 3rd).
