If USC keeps this up and wins something like 34-0, they might be back in the top 5. Someone else has to beat these guys, shoot they might end up #4
We win out and it doesn't matter. Until we lose a game, I'm not worrying about anyone else. Just sit back and watch OU and the Aggs lose and enjoy the bye week.
SC has to play at Oregon on Halloween. The Ducks look like they might be getting their poop in a group. ducks unis right now involve matte black helmets and silver numbers. Looks like a cross between rollerball and Tron. The other week it was green top and gray pants with white helmets. Looked like kiwi cupcakes with zit icing.
USC has to go to both South Bend and Oregon. We'll find out after those trips if they "threaten" the top 5 or not. This has all the looks of a crazy year a la 2007, where everyone loses, so it's too hard to say. If USC jumps anyone it should be Boise State. Playing a non-conference against UC-Davis should get you knocked down in the polls.
While this feels like a down year for my Trojans, the fact they have a true freshman at QB and have been snakebit by injuries just leads me to believe they will only improve, especially when some of these guys get healthy again. #1 WR Ronald Johnson will be back soon. The thing is, ND and Oregon still have to score against SC's defense, which is certainly stout.
This is a non-issue. USC could very well climb back up to #3, but noone will give them a first or second place vote as long as there are undefeated teams at the top. Our schedule is too weak and it's starting to get too late in the year to lose. Win and we are in. We are only threatened by the SEC teams, but there's 2 spots and only 1 of them will go.
Until such time as SC loses its 3rd game, it will remain a threat to be Top 5. The media will always overlook their Stanford, Washington, Oregon State moments and proclaim them as the team no one wants to play at the end of the year. You can put Florida and LSU in this category as well.
