Cleveland looks like it will draw short straw and miss the playoffs in spite of winning perhaps as many as 95/96 games. In most years 95 wins would challenge for best record in AL. Not this year. One clear reason is the number of truly bad teams has inflated win totals. Detroit won’t even get to 50 wins and Baltimore and KC will both not get to 60 wins. Last weekend should be exciting.
Cleveland closes with 3 at Washington; Rays 3 at Toronto; and A's 3 at Seattle. Cleveland needs to sweep with the Rays and A's going 1-2 just to create a 3-way tie. Those are long odds. Money will be on Oakland and TB.
