Removing a parking boot is a really dumb thing to do, likely borne out of frustration with the parking gestapo. It is not an evil thing to do. It is not a recklessly dangerous thing to do.

Let Agiye pay the price for his stupidity, and then rejoin the team.

So just how many tickets SHOULD he be allowed to ignore before consequence attaches? It isn't that difficult, even in the current era, to park in a manner which is consistent with the guidelines AND also to take care of outstanding obligations.

Every one knows how horrible it is to park around DKR, even on a non-game day.
I would think we could build a free parking garage for the staff and athletes, and then attack the student parking issue also while at it.
It’s not like we have really caring local cops anymore, almost on any local level, you find non caring officers.
And before I get blasted for that, I have a dad who was a Major in the Texas Rangers and my daughter is an FBI agent. Training and higher level agencies do matter in law enforcement!

He deserved the boot for failure to pay tickets. He deserved the misdemeanor citation for whatever he did to the boot.

He doesn't deserve to be kicked off the team, or to have a season long suspension for being a knucklehead who can't figure out how to park his car.

If you cannot figure out how to follow the rules or how to park, and you are already ON a second chance, then can you really be trusted to know the playbook?

The University used to sell parking permits for students in the various garages. Has that changed? If not, why isn't a permit part of their scholarship package? If it is, and he just wants to park at the curb at Jester, then my sympathy wanes.

If you listened to Sark's presser yesterday it was not just the boot. It was an accumulation of things. Apparently Sark made it clear to Agiye what was expected before season began. Agiye didn't listen.
That Sark just suspended him but laid out exactly what Agiye MUST do is compassionate leadership.
We will see how it plays out.
But it was not just the boot.

From the team? I do. For anyone here to try to pretend he knows whether or not this guy deserves to be kicked off is silly. Goodbye.

I do not want him released. I wouldn’t want the third string K booted from the team, unless it is an egregious act.

    Booted. Good one.

Seriously, don't we have to think this guy has done enough egregious things and been warned?

I understand, but maybe it’s a lack of confidence with this kid. I do some work with kids and I know sometimes they are afraid of failing and thus do stoopid stuff- like act uninterested or late?
But obviously I have no idea what the issues are. But it’s not drugs, guns or physical abuse.

I am not in a position to know, and sure as hell ain't asking any questions. If this is something minor where he has been and where other friends are, a little slack. If he was notified and/or warned previously, I question if we have found another BJ Foster.

Two ends of the spectrum? Absolutely, but suffering through the last two years has made me less tolerant.

Trusting a coach’s judgment or decision making ability is banned on this forum.

It's a conundrum for some people around here who believe the players can do no wrong AND the coaches are above reproach on their decisions.

Both can't be true. This guy is either a POS who needs to be gone or Sark doesn't know what he's doing.

    Those are the choices.

    I'm going with Sark here.

What I was told tonight, there were 2 cops watching him trying to remove the boot, and they were telling him if he didn't stop he would be arrested if he did get if off.

I am guessing Agiye is a bit narcissistic so he thinks he is above the rules. But this might be why he is a good WR. He is not afraid to fail and goes for it. He might have said some things to the arresting cops that didn't help his cause. BTW doesn't he have NIL money to pay tickets?
Personally, though I dislike narcissists, I am hoping he sticks with the team and learns a little humility.

I read in one of the tweet threads that the NCAA has ok'd schools paying athletes fines.Tried to find it again.
It might have been just someone's suggestion.I didnt read that closely
Either way it is a B.S. idea

How hard is it to park legally? I could maybe see ONE ticket. But, multiple screw ups? It's like this guy thinks he can just park anywhere and never have to pay the consequences.

I love how some here refer to the police they otherwise support as the gestapo, etc.

Do I like parking restrictions and rules? No. Does it matter? Hell no.

This guy is in college. Many here bemoan, correctly, all the safe space BS etc that much of college has become. Yet, then they turn around and act like the UT police is so over the top with enforcing this crap.

Should they have enforced the rioting etc? Of course, but it is immaterial here.
