With Amazon Go and Apple Pay I expect those two companies to eventually form their own banks, or something like it if that is legal or possible. They are generating enormous revenues and are surely looking for ways to cut the payment processors out of the picture I have a lot of respect for Jeff Bezos and Amazon. Innovation is central to their culture, even if they don't nail everything perfectly they are always pushing the edges to see what they can do better
Not to make this political but that's a lot of retail jobs that will be lost when technology like this goes mainstream. It's only a matter of time. I expect customers will self segregate themselves between those who embrace the technology and frequent stores like this and those that want the in-person clerk experience to complain to.
