They are more liberal, but most of them are less corrupted by ideology and hate. (The Scots are an exception.) If the evidence shows that they're screwing something up, they're typically not completely blind to see it. If you presented similar evidence to white liberals in the US, they'd come up with reasons why that evidence is indicative of white supremacy and transphobia and should be suppressed because they hate the people asking them to look at it. The intellectual merit of it would be irrelevant.

Not true anymore. Swedish cities are filled with immigrants from the ME and Africa. I think the issue is that Swedes still see them as "other" and are willing to protect themselves. Their identity as Swedish hasn't been corrupted yet.
What you all are saying is true, but I don't think this issue is part of the immigration problem inq Scandinavia. After all, Muslim immigrants are going to be wildly right wing on something like this. I think a lot of the difference there is that there's less hatred for the opposition. Think about Democrats in America. Do they really hate Republicans? No, they hate Bible-believing Christians and any policy agenda associated with them. That's what they really rally around. If they change course on something, they are giving in and surrendering to a group of people they thoroughly detest. In Scandinavia, there aren't many Bible-believing Christians, and they certainly aren't a significant political force. Accordingly, if they give in on an issue in Scandinavia, it's secularists giving into other secularists. That's easier for them to stomach.
Unless there’s a cartel connection, otherwise it’s the long game and votes. Nothing surprises me any longer about the imaginative corruption.
I understand why and support restricting immigration, especially from Islamic nations. However, I'm not sure how countries like Sweden are going to maintain the Nordic model long term without massive immigration from somewhere or without their native people deciding to value having children again.
