^It would also help if she had enough common sense to fill a thimble - but she doesn't.

There is that, too. Indeed, dumber than a brick.

She's an imbecile. Lump her in with Congressman Hank Johnson who thought Guam would tip over and capsize if it were over occupied.

    HiC
Justice Democrats (the PAC) goal is to put dozens if not hundreds like her and Omar into Congress and they are dead serious. They were also pretty successful in 2018.
I do not think she will be unseated. I am afraid we will see more like her unless we all work to stop this.

Not even really learn it. Just have a superficial understanding of it comparable to what your average 5th grader would have.

They see her as a means to motivate the base. So long as she's doing that without putting their donor base at risk, they aren't going to mind her idiocy.

She could hurt their standing with independents and moderates. However, the media doesn't spin her as the idiotic clown that she is. It's really remarkable. They spun Sara Palin as a total ****-kicking hillbilly from day 1, and though she was very dumb, AOC makes Palin look like friggin Socrates. Despite all that, the media spins her as a passionate and energetic "fresh face" speaking for a younger and better generation. Furthermore, they don't try to tar the Democratic brand with her. All of that minimizes her possible impact on independents.

She and people like her are the future of the Party. Tom Perez has basically acknowledged that. It's becoming an identity politics-driven socialist party much like the Labour Party in the UK.

They try to wrap themselves up in the Nordic Model, because that sounds good and isn't as scary to people. However, if you actually look at what they want to do and what their general principles are, they don't have much in common with Nordic countries. They crap on capitalism, the profit motive, and private commerce every chance they get and see them as inherent and irredeemable evils. Nordic countries don't do that. Totalitarian socialist states like Cuba, the Soviet Union, and Venezuela do, which makes sense. You can't destroy a private economy and respect individual freedom and the rule of law at the same time. You need totalitarianism to do that.

I was mostly joking. Like I said, I don't think the Dems are smart enough to do what I suggested.

Someone needs to learn that it's better to remain silent and be thought foolish than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

    Too late for her, though.

I hear she was the superstar at Austin’s SXSW festival, outdrawing the Dem Presidential candidates. Unfortunately the young people of the country don’t seem to realize what a buffoon she is.

The one good thing about the rise of AOC is the complete undressing of the value of an economics degree (and paper credentials in general). For years, I have viewed the study of economics as philosophy trying to pass itself off as a science. That may have been too kind.

Charles Payne on Fox News says she is crazy like a fox. They are "de-platforming" the likes of Wells Fargo.

Get people thinking that if banks aren't allowed to finance pipelines and private prisons, etc., then they will no longer be built. Thus, the Dems will have saved the world.

Again, I doubt she is smart enough to do this on her own.

That makes total sense. Cenk is janky Socialist. A complete moron but he gets a huge amount of money, I think, from Turkey or some other majority Muslim nation.

It also could explain how AOC always seems to be in front of a TV camera and microphone. Would be very interested to hear more about these connections.

One of the big problems that I see are that economics should be a topic that everyone learns and uses in their lives. It is so important for life on earth.

However, economics was turned into a science when it is really the study of human beings and their choices. The money, supply, demand, and all that comes into play because those are the tools we use to get what we want. It was turned into a science so that economists could have titles and be used by government as experts. The experts give the government the justification for the policy that the government wants to enact. The government gives economists positions of honor and money.

Read a book like Human Action by Mises or Economics In One Lesson by Hazlitt. You will know a great deal more than AOC.

    That is nuts.

What businessman is going to be convinced by a bartender that banks don't lend money?

The thought being, from what I gathered, that voters would push for legislation disallowing bank financing. Yes, it's all nuts.

If I had an economics degree from Boston University, I'd be embarrassed. She makes it looks like their program is a disco with books, to borrow Chris Rock's line. I'm not saying that it is, but she makes it look like you don't need to be very smart or knowledgeable about economics to graduate.

The value of higher education is decreasing while its cost is increasing. I expect there to be a university bubble pop someday soon.

Frankly, she should ask God that rhetorical question.

God doesn't always answer prayers the way we want. Sometimes He expects us to observe reality and protect ourselves, with weapons, like in the book of Esther.

The idea of asking God "what good are thought and prayers", is that it might lead one to some serious introspection/meditation on the subject, rather than superficially blowing off the notion altogether.
