Not disagreeing with you, and I’m not too concerned about rankings this early, but curious why it “makes more sense” for us to be below FSU, for example. Why would they deserve a higher spot?

It’s all subjective right now anyway. Fun for debate though.

that is reasonable. But our victory was much better than Any of USC'S VICTORIES

Just my opinion of course, but to me even though USC and tOSU haven't played a game commensurate with Bama on the road, they were ranked significantly higher to begin with and haven't lost or even been tested yet, so I feel like on paper we shouldnt just leapfrog them. Im skeptical about FSU as well to be fair, but I just feel like we need to win more games and these teams need to lose or at least stumble a bit.

well being ranked significantly higher at the beginning of a season is so, so subjective. There should be much shuffling of rankings in the first 3 games till it settles down a bit. So we should be ranked higher than USC or tosu due to our quality win. I will not be moved from that reasoning.

Not disagreeing with you on this. However tOSU plays Notre Dame in a couple of weeks. I can almost guarantee the winner of that game will be ranked ahead of us whether they deserve it or not.

My prediction is that Texas remains ranked higher than ND and tOSU because a meteor will crash into the stadium during the game to remove both from contention. Wait, sorry - that's just my hope.

    that could happen.

We can remedy some of this by a rule that doesn't allow a team to enter the poll until they complete a game with a Div. 1 or power 4 team.

Slightly off topic, and I've always hated Billingsley's rankings, but he may finally be catching on CFRC Encyclopedia

Exactly. I am not saying we should count on Texas as number 1 but Georgia and Michigan in the top 90 "hardest schedules", give a a break. And look at Colorado and OU. Crazy but Colorado put their coach on National Tv with a sunglasses stunt and beat a 0-3 rival at home by 8. Jeez. Tennessee in the 100's and lost to an uninspiring Florida team. Ohio State at 69 and we have a top 10! Texas a$m at 117? Alabama still in the top 10 because they played Texas as it should be.

I’m not sure how he calculates his schedule difficulty ranking, but it should make more sense as the year goes on and we learn more about the relative strengths of various teams.

His all-time top 200 teams list has the 2005 Horns at #27. Just no.

Me thinks Deion U. will lose it's first game Sat. vs. the Ducks!

I suspect 3-0 Auburn will beat aggy this Sat. in Collie Station...

Without Hunter, who was both their best receiver and their best defensive back, CU will be hurting bad until he returns.

My gosh who knows with the Pac but Oregon has talent. I think aggie has much better players than Auburn and on a neutral site it is a toss up.

117 is also where I have aggy in guy's AP Poll. "AP" here stands for Awesome Poll - not Associated Press, since I have nothing to do with that AP. So yes, it's guy's Awesome Poll Poll with aggy ranked #117.
