Committing early and then hoping to bring in fellow 5 stars is the smart way to go. I'm sure the Manning family has some savvy there knowing you need to build around yourself.

Once I saw the Randle commitment I figured this would soon follow. This should certainly help with recruiting the other offensive positions, and probably the defensive too.

Too bad Rueben sandwich isn't going to get to be part of it.

Texas Longhorns have now landed the only three "perfect rated" QBs in history.
    (VY, Ewers, and now Manning)

As an aside, Longhorns currently have committed or on campus the #1, #1, #2, and #12 QBs in their respective cycles...
    Wow
(Though doubt both Murph and Card stay)

(A friendly reminder that Hudson Card was #2 in his class, for those who keep thinking he was a throw in or afterthought)

    Big tyme

Plus it allows Arch to have as normal a senior year as possible.
I am SO proud of Sark and coaches, so excited for all Horn Fans
But my admiration for the Manning family is immense.

Wow! Nice way to ease into the weekend. Georgia sites are in full freak out mode trying to figure out how this possibly could have happened.

Ill add one more thing on Manning that is significant to me..

His official twitter bio simply says
    "High school student"
...let that sink in for a minute...

If that isn't a sign of being right between the ears, a solid upbringing, maturity, and being focused on your job/whats in front of you....in this insane, narcissistic, look at me, wanna-be world.....I don't know what is.

I expect him to be a tremendous leader, example, influence, and model for our school and program over the next 3-4 years

I like just about everything I've seen from him so far. I'm more excited really about what look to be the aftereffects of this. It may serve as an "all-clear" for some guys who weren't quite ready to put their trust in Sark and the program - you just got a seal of approval from about as meticulous a recruiting process as you're going to see.

if Sark can figure out the magic of getting QBs to wait a couple of years on their turn and trust in the developmental program, he could really have something special on offense moving forward. We need to put an end to this whole "which freshman is going to start for us" tradition we've got going lately.

One of the best things about Arch is the support he has from his total family unit, including Archie, Peyton, & Eli, but without the "helicopter member" visiting Sark every week to "advise him".

Fine, levelheaded young man with a great family

Did the sandwich de-commit because he wants to be at a more run oriented team? Or was it cash?

Might be because there's already too much talent here. Notice he didn't choose a very competitive situation. I'm guessing he liked being told he would be the big honcho on campus.

Big get for Sark and the staff. Reminds me of the Simms Redding class. Need to go get a big time defensive recruit to build it out.

Oh, all QBs are average without an OL.
