Ownership trying to shake down state and local taxpayers to completely fund a new home for the team in Buffalo and threatens moving to Austin. Does he think Austin voters would be more eager to line his pockets?
So the city of Buffalo doesn't want to fully fund a new stadium, but they think the city of Austin will? LOL!
El Paso has a nice stadium and no football. Name the team the Cervezas and they could get rich off t-shirt and cap sales
Wasn't there a Bill who used to motivate focusedness? Dadgum that's a cheerful soul I miss. That brings to mind his name. Bill in Sinton.
I hate being used as a pawn in a chess game. We all know Jerrah will not allow another team to move to the Austin/San Antonio area. Too many Cowboy fans in SA alone.
Where would they play? IIRC, DKR Memorial Stadium doesn't allow NFL teams to play there. That means Austin would have to build a new stadium somewhere. Traffic is bad enough as it is. Put them up in Salado.
Maybe we could raise money to keep the away from our state Capitol? I guess I'd rather just scare them off with hostility.
Here I'll start my list of things I would prefer to the Bills relocating to Austin. 1. An extra colonoscopy. 2. Rewatching Charlie Strong post-loss press conferences. 3. Sitting next to a naked Dale Hansen in a sauna.....
We have nothing to worry about - they are not coming to Texas, let alone Austin. I know some folks get butt-hurt over the possibilities and then broken heart when it doesn't work out. More power to 'em as I'm sure they follow and enjoy the NFL. As for me, I haven't much cared about pro football since the Oilers left Houston so couldn't care less, and thankful the rabid Buffalo fans will eventually give in to something that will keep the Bills there as it's one less thing to increase taxes and traffic here.
Yeah, I read it as the owners mostly sabre rattling (no, not you Sabre Horn!) to get the attention of the fans and city officials...
Serious question, what is a "Bill"? The team mascot is a "Bill" but they have a buffalo on their helmet. Are they the Buffalo buffaloes?
According to the quick intergooglez research I did, the Bills nickname was a play on Buffalo Bill Cody. They were originally the Buffalo Bison.
Yeah, that's what we all tried to say a couple of years ago. :/ Reminds me of how year after year agents were using "Mack Brown to _____" rumors to get their guys more dough.
