Very good analysis overall from the board and the AAS reporters. I was at the game.We were due for this kind of game — it was inevitable..... Kingham didn’t bring it Batters sitting on too many pitches, then looking for the BB 2 errors The hitttng styles were ‘night & day’....TT batters attacked the ball at every AB. I have no idea what our batters were looking for. This got worse as the game went on. Too many K’s & walks in critical innings, UT did get some DP’s to keep the score close. I knew 4 runs would not beat TT You CANNOT misss bunting opportunities in critical sutuations Overall grades - UT C-, TT B+ To me the killer play was Chambers AB with 1 out & runners on 2nd & 3rd. I was thinking....pitch around him or walk him. Then, u have a possible DP scenario. But, he lays a fat ball right in his wheelhouse & he crushes a rising rocket to the C field wall. That was the difference in the game. I like our chances of taking 2. We’re now the underdog, & I think that’s when we are usually more focused & bring our ‘Texas fight’. I’m expecting game 3 tomorrow.
The only thing good about the game is it should have proven to Kingman he isn't pro ready, and another year at Texas would do him good.
