Away We Go

Just saw it. Phenomenal Sam Mendes movie. Like American Beauty and Revolutionary Road, it's a pretty well-done slice of American families, except it's more funny depressing than poetic depressing. Definitely lighter fare than either of those two.

Happy ending, I promise.

 

Thanks for the recommendation. I'm not one who thinks Mendes has much of a grip on American life, but I've been thinking of giving this movie a look.

 

I set the bar right in the middle and this movie met expectations. Didn't dislike it, didn't love it. Wife is preggers so it was required watching.

 

I agree with Biscuithead. It's good-- not great, not terrible. Pass on the theater; save it for DVD.

 

I prefer Eva Mendes. for a variety of reasons

 

Agreed with a couple of the above posters. Good but not great. I liked the message but the story was a bit incredulous.
