Baltimore Crime Rate Soaring

From the article:

Marnette Gordon was doing laundry at home in Minneapolis one summer morning last year when a call came from her 36-year-old son.

She figured her son, Telly Blair, was checking in to see if she wanted a soda from a gas station down the street, where he often went for fuel and snacks.

“Mom, I’ve been shot,” he said. “Call the police!”

What a strange thing to request after asking the cops to be defunded. Then there's this insanity:

Minneapolis ranked on U.S. News & World Report's 'Best Places to Live'

How does heightened crime equate to a best place to live?

I'm surprised they don't just accuse people who call the police of being racist against the poor, underprivileged and oppressed criminals.

White progressives only care about crime if it's in their neighbourhoods. It's like a lot of liberal friends I know who live in the DC area. They love it. Why? Because they don't live in the ghetto. They live in and hang out in nice areas. If a bunch of black guys shoot each other and carjack people in poorer areas, they don't particularly care.

That's very similar to the homeless camp problem we had here in Austin. As soon as tents started popping up in their neighborhoods and yards they put up a petition to ban public camping again and it passed. Liberals are always about thee and not me.

Yep the homeless camps stretched back into the neighborhoods near the on-ramps to major roads and highways. Think of the ramp to 290 and I-35 from the old mall/airport boulevard area.

I know, I drive 290 past that every single day for work. It was a regular disgusting dirty community for a long time. Now an occasional tent pops up but its whisked away in a matter of a couple days. Now they apparently have moved to and completely trashed the green belt. I guess that's not considered public camping.
