Baron Davis gets paid

$65 million/5 years for a guy who has been hurt quite a bit in his career. But oh what he does when isn't! I'm a Mavs fan and it was still amazing to watch him tear up Dallas

 

Baron Davis was in-line to make $17.8MM next year and turned that down for a $13MM per year contract???

 

I don't think that he is getting paid $65MM in one year though.

I guess he does get to go home and I guess he thought that his next deal next year would be much less than $13MM per year.

 

He's not getting older and he has a history of injuries. He wants to make sure he's going to get all this money.

 

It is also possible he took a little less money so they could re-sign Elton Brand.

 

Also, if you'll recall, Nelson sat Baron for the entire second half of the season finale against Phoenix, a game GS had to win to make the playoffs, and didn't.

I'm guessing there might be some bad blood there, facilitating Davis' desire to get out of GS at any cost.
