Beard talking to Ole Miss

Unless we learn a lot more evidential facts, I think I'm ok with disagreeing on some things and moving on.

Some here feel like the org should protect their employees if there are no charges. Some here feel like there was likely enough evidence to suggest unacceptable behavior occurred, and needed to protect itself.

We all agree he was a top coach who will be missed on the court. For me, he was going to be the next Penders-Barnes guy that gives us a shot every year for a chunk of years, and that's over. It's a bummer.

Ole Miss went from 12-21 to 20-12 in year one. I'm not certain they'll make the sweet 16 this year, but I would wager that they end the season ranked in the top 25.

We are getting close to seeing who is going to win this bet. I know that there is a lot left for the regular season but a good seed in the tournament could lead to two wins for Beard.

This thread and the whole Beard situation just makes me sad. That guy had it all in front of him at Texas and a real chance to win it all eventually and a screwed-up personal life shot it all to hell. I know there are those who think Texas should have waited longer and let it play out and he would have survived but the reality is he was done in Austin after that and yes it sucked and yes I think we all knew he would have success wherever he landed but he had to go, it's just that simple he had to go.

I disagree. UT-Austin had the chance to oppose female violence against males and cratered. ******* cowards and hypocrites.

He admittedly choked her. She also had bruses to support her allegations. She was/is a violent, crazy-*** *****. IMHO his greatest sin on a personal level was dragging that piece of violent, crazy-*** ***** excess baggage from Lubbock to Austin with him. But the public nature of it all left CdC no choice.

I wonder what “could have been” had all this not happened, but I don’t think there’s a need to feel sad about it. He’s gotten another job at a SEC school and hopefully he’s learned from his mistake. I wish him well and I hope he’s no longer with that woman. Seems like that was a toxic relationship for both of them and they are better off apart.

Rare is it that Mr Normal Healthy EVER picks a woman like that. Super rare.

You can't support that in a public facing figure. He had to go.

Doesn't mean I don't hope he did some real work on himself and becomes great somewhere. I do hope that.
 
The coach we should have has Ole Miss, a traditional sub .500 team, in the sweet 16 for only the second time in school history in just his second year. They are throttling 3 seed Iowa St by 20 with 3 min left.

What could have been with a little patience to let things play out.
