FYI, you can buy Jaime's in the jar at Central Market. I've probably bought 50+ jars and had no problems. The quality has been very consistent.

Can you go do that to the Austin Tex Mex primer? I get tired of sorting through them.

Make that 8 for Trudy's yo, I love mixing up the two salsas they have. It's heaven.

F Chili's, their chips are weak and salsa is even worse. The Skillet Queso is very good, though.

Go to Chili's. Salsa is mediocre, but they have really good chips and unbelievable queso. Plus, the one on Lamar and 45th has a really cute staff.

trudy's??? are you kidding me? its picante sauce, not salsa...you might as well say you like pace

vivo's on manor has the best flavorful salsa...(note the word flavorful)

texican cafe and maudies both have pretty good spicy salsa. el chile on manor is also pretty good.

Yeah, I like Trudy's a lot. I like their chile relleno, and their stuffed avocado, because both are sort of unique the way they make them. I like their migas and fajitas. Their Mexican martinis are fantastic.

But their sauces and chips are both severely lacking.

Ditto Trudy's. Average food, average-to-above average prices. The mexican martini's are great. You can buy better chips and salsa at HEB.

I had forgotten how hot the salsa is at Juan in Million. My face melted before my Don Juan showed up.

Horny, you're disqualified. Creamy Jalepeño is most definitly NOT salsa.

Juan in a Million's salsa is pure fire in a bowl. I can never put more than about a half a teaspoon a on each chip! And I love hot salsa! [IMG]

You guys, seriously, either I have messed up heat receptors, or you guys are wusses. I was jsut at Juan in a Million on Sunday, and we ahd to get extra salsa. It's really not that hot. It is good though.

For a green onion/tomato salsa, I like Serrano's. I mention it because it isn't mentioned on this thread and is many times better than Chili's.

Favorite has to be Chuy's and Ninfa's.

    My favorites

    Jaimies
    Maudies
    Manuels
    Z Tejas
    Darios
    Juan in a Million
    Taco Shack
    El Matt's

One time my wife and I were at Jamies with some friends. She was drinking a frozen margerita and eating chips and salsa. She drank too much too fast and got a brain freeze. About the same time the salsa kicked in and her mouth got burned. Her brain was freezing and her mouth was on fire. We were all laughing our heads off. I told her she had a thermocline in her head.

I do love Jaime's. They now sell it at Central Market here is Houston. Flame throwing stuff, but good. Love Maudi's salsa too.
