    Good morning my little pretties...

Ok, you bunch of crazies, you have infiltrated my relationship with my wife. She is now fully aware of your presence and that you have my ear.

    WTF right?

So we spent last night and a bit this morning over coffee talking Ivermectin. We've Googled all sorts of things: Why would a doctor prescribe Ivermectin to a human. The answer seems to be universally related to parasitic worms. Then we Googled should a doctor prescribe Ivermectin for Covid. All sorts of "No's" on that one and even some mention of it being an unethical thing to do. But it's NOT RECOMMENDED by the FDA. Not prohibited. My wife's doctor knew for a fact that she requested Ivermectin to treat Covid, the doctor prescribed and People's Pharmacy filled the prescription.

The question is this: What is it about Ivermectin that makes you think it works (the science not anecdotal evidence) against a virus?

Note that Paxlovid seems to be recommended only for those who are at risk of a severe reaction to Covid, meaning someone like me. In theory, based upon what we read, my wife possibly might have chosen not to take anything and just ride it out, of course, masking, distancing etc.

An interesting is this: A PCR test (the one from a pharmacy) that takes at least 24 hours to get the result can yield a positive test even though you are no longer contagious due to residual elements of the virus. The antigen test (result available in 15 minutes) is the one that can clear you because it can detect evidence of live contagious virus activity in the body. So we're now going to rely on the antigen test and not the PCR to determine if it's safe for me to make out with her.

    Just sharing what I "know."

    My wife sent me this:

Coronavirus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) | Johns Hopkins ABX Guide

I can't get my "Snip" to work but scroll way down and you'll see they do not recommend Ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquine.

The simple reality is that, because of how the leftist media portrayed BOTH Ivermectin and HCQ, they sought to tar any doctor who prescribed it as a quack. It then took on the same life as things in the past that were forwarded by email by someone with a title to their name (remember the gangs without headlights from a decade or so back...was presumed true because a deputy passed it on to someone who then passed it on, keeping the deputy's signature block).

The 'horse paste' narrative and 'fish tank cleaner' narrative took on lives of their own, just as the whole 'drink bleach' crap still lives to this day...

The big medical facilities depend on federal funding, so they aren't going to go against the approved narratives from the CDC and FDA. And neither of those agencies want to get involved in a study in a fashion which would show it works precisely BECAUSE there is no money in an off-patent medication that can be had for mere pennies a dose.

Oh, and remember that Viagra did not begin life as a pecker drug...it was determined to be a use unrelated to the goal of the medication and its developmental research. It is not a stretch to find that something like Ivermectin can work for things OTHER than parasites...

Yes, many things have been "invented" by accident on the road to somewhere's else.

So... what is it about Ivermectin that specifically would attack or at least put a nice headlock on Covid and it's variants?

It’s the action of these drugs that have an effect on Corona not a specific ‘anti’ Covid 19 function. If I try to go any further into the specifics I’m afraid I’ll say something inaccurate and get butchered on here for it. Just to show the reluctance of Drs on this I can say my doc proscribed it under the diagnosis of ‘dry eyes’ which is acceptable. But to be careful about it I have to see him every 6 months for follow up to protect him from the - you know. The follow up is for the script protection, not to monitor the drug in case you’re wondering.

I won't butcher you. I don't have the information to butcher anyone and I'm not wanting to be that way anyway.

Just saw you’re ‘ivermectin’ question and I cannot address that because the ivermectin I get a bit under the radar, unlike the hydroxy. No not the horse paste, which I do use on my horses, but the pills come from Mexico.
Without too much specifics I’ll say according to my Doc the hydroxy has positive effects at thwarting negative lung effects of the Corona.

I couldn't tell you the specifics because it isn't my field...but there are more than enough reports of it having been effective when given early in the process that I would have no qualms discussing it with my provider.

I just know there are LOTS of medications with off-label use, some of which I agree with and some that I don't. When people whine about off-label use of Ivermectin, however, they usually shut up when I point out how thankful I am for their opposition to the chemical transing of kids...Lupron is used to stunt their growth, which is done through off-label use of Lupron.

Well Rogaine for hair growth is also an alternative accidental discovered use for a drug - didn’t work worth a darn for me though.

By, in your research I would suggest you read the papers and talks by Drs Malone, Mercola (probably spelling that wrong, and Urso. They have testified concerning the improper care and treating of Corona patients before the Texas and US Congress. I am not touting infallibility here but I do believe Fauci should be prosecuted, just so you know my prejudice.

Look at Covid infection rates here and around the world. You'd expect to see significant excess deaths in less developed nations that couldn't provide jabs to most of their populations, like Sub-Saharan Africa.

And yet, in Africa, transmission rates of Covid as well as reported deaths are well below world averages. Why?

Best explanation I have heard is that people there take Hydroxychloroquine regularly to prevent malaria. CDC recommends travelers to malaria prone areas take it too. Well, it also beats the crap out of Covid.

Back to the gubernatorial race. The attached tweet is NOT an endorsement for Francis because he would do worse. However, this is one of the problems I see with Abbott. He won't give up the dictatorial power he took up with covid as an excuse.

He needs to get back to the Texas constitution and the due process it demands of him.

Do you have some examples of Abbott being a "dictator"?
The Gov has so few real powers

I’m not trying to be flippant, but there’s a decent chance most of us have already gotten Covid and never tested positive, or expressed noticeable symptoms. Consult your doctor(s) for medical advice.

If that was the point he could get a court order against it and implore the Legislature to pass a bill to protect us.

He shut down private business and violated the Texas Constitution for what was it 6-9 months unilaterally. That included churches.

Getting a court order is NOT as simple as you seem to believe it is...do not underestimate the ability of the leftists to find a favorable judge or to modify the arguments which did not work elsewhere.

Further, legislation has to be tailored to address NOT JUST the current issue, but it would be remaining in place until action was taken to remove it...and the legislature has shown great reluctance to pass a Bill to remove other legislation.

I don't recall seeing businesses shut down for six to nine months in Texas by the Governor. We had County Judges who over-reached, but I know MY building was open every single day as were many others in Harris County that basically told Dora the Explorer to sit and spin.

I could very easily be wrong on the duration of the lockdown and the politician who did it. It could have been done on a county by county basis. My memory is blurred. Travis/Williamson county had "nonessential" entities shut down for months. It was at least 3 or 4.

But my overall point remains. Even if Abbott never exercised emergency powers in 2020 then he even more so has no reason to keep extending his emergency power declaration.

Part of the reason for some of his Emergency Orders were precisely to END the nonsense being perpetrated by some of the Counties.

But for that EO, we have little dictators in office at the City and County levels who would seek to STILL have people locked down. I'm good with the EO if it prevents that from occurring...

Does Abbott's emergency power actually preempt local officials? I honestly don't know the answer to that.

We know that it didn't in 2020. He needs to give it up.

I'm all for him giving it up, but if it is preempting local laws, be prepared for tyrants in Travis, Dallas, and Harris Counties to start running wild.

Dora was set to try and lock people down a few weeks ago over what turned out to be a false positive of monkeypox in a child...and we all can recall the shenanigans Clay pulled in Dallas. And then there was the fear-mongering pushed by Adler and the rest of the Austin City Clowncil.

They went further than that and all the while the governors emergency powers were in tact. I still see no evidence that they have restrained anyone. They simply empower him for whenever he wants to use it. I would like to be proved wrong.

Some of the City/County people that tried things got *****-slapped by the Courts after being sued for trying to supersede the EO.
