Big 12 goes undefeated on opening day (6-0): Kansas State 74 Stephen F. Austin 49 West Virginia 102 Central Conn. St. 52 Baylor 121 Lamar 63 Oklahoma 96 Belmont 73 Next up today and tomorrow: TCU, Texas, Tx Tech and Kansas with Baylor playing their second game on Sunday.
Texas 95 Stetson 59 Baylor 100 Coppin State 54 Kansas 66 Campbell Ouch! Lady Raiders fans are not going to be happy with this result. Texas State 87 Texas Tech 70 Big 12 ends the first weekend with a record of 10-1.
I said after last season that Tech needed to cut their losses with Candi Whitaker and start the rebuilding process under a new coach. They kept her, and what followed were more transfers, coaching turnover, and verbal decommitments. And, their 2018 recruiting class (1 signee, I think) is very disappointing. Start the season with a 17 point home loss to Texas State tells me she won't last the season; won't surprise me if she is fired and new assistant coach, Melanie Balcomb is named interim head coach.
TBH, I dont want Melanie in this league lol. She's a really solid coach who could find a way to give most teams fits night in and night out. Her offensive scheme's have notoriously been some of the best in the women's game
TXST had a girl score 44 points in their defeat of TT. Is she a one night wonder or a jewel that the big boys overlooked?
