Big 12 in the NCAA Saturday

UTSA really is no match for A&M. 29-8 with 8 minutes to go. A&M is forcing TOs right and left. Their reserves should get a lot of playing time.

ISU is up on Geo. Tech by 2, 29-27 with 17 minutes left in the second half.

 

Wow! G. Tech has taken 15 more shots than ISU but the Cyclones are shooting much better so have the lead.

 

UTSA is playing much better. They won't come close to catching the Aggies but they have settled in and are playing well. Of course, maybe the Aggies have let up a bit, if only unconsciously.

 

ISU up by six after a 3, 35-29 with 14 minutes to go.

 

ISU is starting to pull away from GT, up 40-29 with 12 minutes to go. Starting to look good for a Big 12 sweep in the first two games.

 

Here is hoping for a lot of success for the Big 12 teams, even Baylor, A&M and OU. Good performances lead to better recruiting for the league.

 

Oops. ISU is now back in a tight game, leading 50-47 with 4:47 to go. They got the ball. Let's go Cyclones.

 

ISU in a nailbiter, up 56-55 andwith the ball with 37 seconds. They are going to have to protect the ball and hit FTs to pull it out.

 

Woo! ISU pulls out a thriller, 58-55, surviving a last second 3pt attempt by GT. Way to go, Cylcones. That's two wins for the Big 12!

 

Can't believe we're not seeing the Baylor game here in Austin. Instead, we got Geo Washington and Auburn. Well, at least Auburn has a Texas ex coaching them.

 

Lady Bears up 23-11 on Fresno State with just over 10 to go in the first half.

 

Fresno State creeping back into the game. With 3:30 to go in the half, Baylor is up 33-21.

 

Looks like Baylor has things in hand again. Up 71-51 with about 9 minutes to go, they look to be the 3rd Big 12 team to advance. That's 3-0 today.

 

OSU has a chance to give the Big 12 a 4-0 start in the NCAAs when they play tonight against East Tenn State at 7pm (CST).

 

Lady Bears officially make it 3-0 for the Big 12 with a 88-67 win over Fresno State.

 

I'm looking forward to the San Diego-Cal game. USD gave us a great fight, and I haven't seen Cal play this year.

 

Cal is strong under the basket...good post presence. I watched them play Stanford a couple of times and they tried to play too up tempo against Stanford and took themselves out of their game.

OSU makes it 4-0 for the Big 12 on the opening day as they take down East Tenn State 85-73.

Now we need to get another 4-0 tomorrow.

 

Do you think there might be a chance for us to see any of a big 12 game tomorrow? Can't believe how few minutes the conference got today...just ISU repeats.

 

Three of the games are on at 11am CST--Illinois St. vs OU; Xavier vs Neb; and Chattanooga vs KSU. Since Texas is not a protected area for any of those, it's hard to say. I didn't get any whiparound today but ESPN says that their whiparound will be on ESPN2HD and the protected games on regular ESPN. All I know is that it sounds like I will be able to watch the Texas game in its entirety on the regular ESPN2 channel since Texas is protected for that broadcast.
