I propose a drinking game, one drink for every cliche this announcer throws out. We are up to about 30 right now in the 4th inning.

    Through 4—0-0
Pitchers dual although we have 3 hits. State has 0 hits and 2 walks (the big German). Hansen avoiding him-which is wise.
Hansen looking great. 5 strikeouts out of 12 batters.

We should be hitting this pitcher…Maderos isn't one of their bests.
Faced him on Sunday for 1 inning last time.

Man, that bunt was perfect by Hodo. Would have been safe regardless.

    Hansen 7 2/3—-122 Pitches -80% strikes. 12 SO. 3 hits. As good a performance as I’ve seen,considering State’s sticks.

I wanted to see nixon but my second choice was stevens, glad to see he’s getting in, when it counts. It’s time for him too.

I had a hearing in Fort Worth and didn’t get to see or hear an inning but got this great news walking out of courtroom so all I can say is ……….

It appears that Pierce likes the Hansen-Stevens combo. I do too, when it works like it did today. Hansen--what can you say??, and Stevens with two big outs in the 9th after a review reversed what would have been out #2 with nobody on base (great stretch by Melendez, by the way). Would have been easy to get rattled by that.

I would play Gordon next game and assuming we win, we play the bullpen in the 3rd game with one condition: you walk or hit more than 1 batter you get benched. Let’s play 13 pitchers if we have to.

I’m sure Gordon is going the next game, if we have a lead at all I would think Harrison/nixon will be the relievers. Kind of curious if they will start stevens the third game or if they will keep giving him work in relief, should know something this second game.

Nice W today - superb pitching, just enough offense. Need to beat TCU - advancing in the winners' bracket could be enough to merit hosting a Regional.

Fantastic pitching by Hansen. Excellent close from stevens which is very nice to see.
Offense did enough. Gordon tomorrow to knock off number one seed and take that position which we should be in anyway.
