didnt know this ..........pretty cool..........Hook em'
Dr Daniel Morgan taught Economics at The University in the 80’s and 90’s. He attended UT with Harley Clark and knew him pretty well. The story Dr Morgan told was that Harley was pitching the hand sign idea to some of his pals and they were.all were giving it a cool reception. Harley went ahead and introduced it at a pep rally and it really took off. Pretty soon students were flashing the hand sign all over campus, and, of course, at sporting events. Dr Morgan then remarked to Harley: (paraphrased) “Harley, I think you’ve really done something big here.”
Harley also grew some fine tomatoes. When I was in restaurant management he'd pop in about once a week when they were in season and we'd buy all he had. They made for great caprese salads and table side, it made for a great story telling the guests who had grown them. We always sold out
Also, it was a friend of Harley's that suggested the Hook 'Em hand sign to Harley.
Was Harley from Kountze?
