This is truly a WTF. I hope it is a German version of the Onion.
I tried to research the mag to see if it is legit but am not sure.

Parenting magazine Baby & Family has told readers to beware of families who are “inconspicuous” and “cheerful”, as these warning signs indicate they are right wing and thus “dangerous”.

Depicted with illustrations featuring solely blonde women and children, the report says ordinary parents must take action against right-wing families and make clear that their ideology has no place in the world.

Asserting that the term “right wing” “stirs up anxiety” and brings to mind “burning refugee homes”, skinheads, and the National Socialist Underground (NSU) group who carried out a string of violent attacks on foreign people, Baby & Family notes that people “rarely connect it with women, family and children”.
“First of all, [right-wing families] are nice and dedicated” Michaela Köttig, sociologist and researcher of right-wing extremism at the Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, alleges.( and that is a bad thing?)
Despite asserting that such children are not outspoken, the “experts” wheeled out by the magazine warn that a sinister aspect of right-wing parenting is that they instill self-confidence in their progeny.( this is a bad thing?)

This has to be satire. It is from 2016. I had not see it before.

The Frankfurt school is the birthplace of cultural Marxism. So sadly not a parody

Cultural Marxists want to tear down whatever makes the existing upper middle class (white people in their eyes) successful.

Yes, it was a real article from a real magazine. I remember it back in 2016. All the idiotic cultural shame and virtue signaling that you see from the Left in the United States is magnified by a factor of 10 over here for obvious reasons. So there's always a social pressure not to look, act, or value anything that is traditionally German or now Western.

It reminds me of Russians who told me they thought Americans were fake because they smiled too much. I guess from their perspective it made sense. Many of them lived through the breakup of the Soviet Union. There was rarely any reason to smile unless you had mental issues.

Yes I was told the same by Russians. If you are seen to be smiling while walking down the street, you are assumed to be mentally ill.

It's not just Russians. Areas of Europe that have been under significant German (especially Prussian) influence think that smiling or appearing happy around anyone you don't know is inappropriate, silly, and a little weird. They stereotype Americans as superficially friendly because of our tendency to smile at and talk to strangers.

Smiling means you are living your life right.

That's funny. I have a sample size of exactly one, but the only true German I know (he was born and raised in Germany until he married an American and moved over here) works for my company. He is without a doubt the happiest son-of-a-gun I've ever known. He's always smiling and laughing. He puts things like : ) after his signature on emails. As he bounces down the hall in the mornings (he has the most animated walk I've ever seen), he yells out hello to people working in their offices.

When he first started here, people (Americans) thought, "is this guy for real". He hasn't changed a bit in all the time he's been here. He's a character.

It's a weird thing. Obviously, there are exceptions. I know some Germans who are very gregarious and even over the top. Strangely, many of them are married to Americans. Here's another thing. There are a lot of differences according to region just like in the US. On one extreme, you have people from the former Prussian areas of Northern Germany. These folks are very reserved, severe, and seem pissed off if you don't know them, and the further north you get, the more extreme it gets. Where I live (in the Kaiserslautern area), you don't see as much of it. However, when I go up to places Münster, Berlin (especially outside the city), or Düsseldorf, people basically walk around with permanent scowls on their faces. On the other extreme, you have Bavarians, who are basically the rednecks of Germany. They're pretty cheery - not by US standards but certainly by German standards. Ditto for the Tyroleans in western Austria. It's the Catholicism and the beer.

One thing that doesn't seem to change from region to region is staring. Germans stare a lot, and they really like to stare at Americans (and we stick out like sore thumbs), and making eye contact doesn't phase them at all. They just keep staring.
