At some level we're all related. Hell, at the most distant levels we're all related to other species (not trying to start that debate).

But, more importantly, this means that blue-eyed people that hook up with other blue-eyed people are gross.

On a similar note, it always amazes me that two people with dark brown/black hair can have a redheaded kid. I know, recessive genes and all but still.

I also want to add that the "Breaking News" headline currently at the top of that link is both misleading and slightly disturbing to me:

"Fifth Anniversary of the Space Shuttle Columbia Explosion: Watch Live".

the red hair gene is recessive, which means it can show up at any time:

I don’t know about anyone else but I trace my lineage back to Adam and Eve.

Tyler, I remember reading about a genetic anthropologist a few years ago and the Alcalde, and he stated that science had traced ALL humans back to a single male. They referred to him as 'Adam' I wondered why the need for the quotation marks.

On a hair colour note. I have medium brown hair, but a fire red beard. People often asked me how that happens. Like I know. My brother is the same way.

Where do green eyes fit in, here? I am assuming they are a subset of blue.

You sound like my Weimaraner. Their eyes are very blue early on, then they turn green, then they turn yellowish...

I guess this makes up for all my unwanted genetic mutations. I wonder if there is a similar study about the prevalence of ear hair?

I have one blue eye and one green eye. Weird, I know. They were much more contrasted when I was a kid, but it's still noticeable if you look close.

I'm not sure where that leaves me..... distant second cousin to all the blue and green eyed folks?

Y-chromosomal Adam is the male equivalent of Mitochondrial Eve.

Our common female ancestor is thought to have lived 140,000 years ago while the common male ancestor is thought to have lived 60,000 years ago.

That means Mitochondrial Eve was a slut. Slept around. [IMG]
